My 16-year-old daughter is reading HGTTG for the first time (she loves it, naturally).

I hadn't gotten around to seeing the movie, so we rented it off Amazon just last week. She was thrilled that it featured two of her favorite actors (Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel), but it took her awhile to recognize Rickman's voice as Marvin (I seem to recall her reaction was, "holy crap, it's Snape!")

RIP, Alan. You were good at your trade.

It is one of the best book adaptations ever done. It was cast brilliantly.

I thought so too....my now ex-wife thought it was "dumb", should have filed divorce in the theater.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Remember reading this book in 9th grade . The 2005 adaptation was pretty spot on with it too.

I try and check back over there every once in a while, but I got out of the industry. That line of work was just becoming a detriment to my health, so I had to make a change. Plus, LSUfanHouston generally has everything under control over there these days. I need to get back over there some more though.

I hear you man, one question though: Do you yourself own a whole life policy?
