I could have sworn I remember Jeremy Johnson ripping the Arkansas defense a new one. What in the holy hell happened?

It's pretty mind boggling. Last year Arky was not bad. I just don't see how this gets fixed by Saturday. Not when we saw issues at Louisville and thought he would work out the kinks today and had the same issues against Jax State.

Not the same, they were worse.

I just don't see how a coach can allow a quarterback to make his mind up where he is going before the ball is even snapped, every single passing play. The phrases second read and check down are not in JJ's vocabulary.

my opinion is that JJ has never faced a talented, well coached secondary. On his last touchdown pass in the Arkansas game to Duke, every wide receiver in view of the camera was wide open. Our secondary has never been a challenge to any of our quarterbacks for the last five years. He's never been tested.

I get the impression he's having a sensory overload. Choking in other words... panicking. All of the experts (Stan White/announcers) are saying his mechanics are all wrong which has never been a problem. Making terrible decisions. Kind of sounds like choking.

There was a reason Marshall started over JJ. Now we know.

It's also certainly possible JJ could have melted down in the 2nd half after Ark had time to make some adjustments.

my thing is, if the rest of them are worse than this then whoever is responsible for developing QBs owes us a gd refund. I mean, wtf you been doing the last 9 months?

Marshall had ice water in his veins. That is something that cannot be taught.

Against Jax you could almost see the wheels turning (albeit slowly) in Johnson's head instead of instinctively reading and reacting.

It was painful to watch.

There were a billion reasons. Marshall was the best Auburn QB in the last 10 years save Cam.

Marshall would have started over a lot of people.

he is the same guy. go back and watch the first half of the arky game last year. he did the dame things, but arky was ready for us to run a lot and we didn't so guys were wide open. he was still staring down receivers, not going through progressions, etc. it just was harder to notice because he was completing passes and we were moving the ball.

he also isn't running the ball at all. i keep hearing he can run, but im not seeing it. if he can't or won't run things will not open up beyond the LOS.

Hold up now. NM was solid, but so was Cox.
