I know it is a popular belief that he can't develop but this is an interesting read that will change none of your minds.

Not sure Gus gets the credit for developing SW. He came in highly polished in his mechanics.

Going by the article, Todd, Newton, and Marshall were successes since they played somewhere else before Auburn, thus Stidham should be a rock star

Jerry is a fantastic writer. He makes a good point, and i hope he's right. The past 2 years have put such a sour taste in my mouth when it comes to the QB position I forget what Gus has done as a whole. The absolute failur as a coach in the Clemson and Georgia games are hard to get over.

The only game that I am really irked by this season is the UGA game. We should have handled them pretty easily and looked completely unprepared.

The Clemson game was a clusterfrick but Watson is a lot like Cam was, he played lights out when he needed to. If we were rolling on offense in that game, Watson probably would have shown up and played lights out too.

This should be a motivational poster in Malzahn's office.

The Clemson game was a cluster frick but I can forgive that one. The UGA game was inexcusable...to be so utterly unprepared against a team we should have easily beaten was the straw for me. I stepped off the Gus bus permanently at that point.

I can forgive the loss but I can no longer justify calling him a great HC because of that game. If Gus thought his Clemson strategy was a good idea, makes you wonder what else is he going to try? Play the OL as a receiver to try and shock the defense? (sarcasm)
It's the HC's responsibility to make sure both sides are playing smart and within their system. Gus completely missed the big picture that game while he was rolling the QBs out there. I was foolishly hoping that he was sandbagging until halftime trying to lull Clemson asleep. Ha I was an idiot then but not as big of an idiot as Gus.

Does anyone know if Gus reads this board? A while back, some posters said Rhett did, but I don't know about Gus or any of the other coaches.
