Couple of notes as I watch this that I'm going to jot down:
- Malzahn sounds extremely confident in Jeremy Johnson.. so confident that it eases the little worry I had.
-Malzahn pretty clearly states Sean White will be the next man at QB once JJ is gone. Not particularly surprising but Malzahn doesn't hesitate saying Sean White is next up.
-Malzahn's joke about the ball boy.. So much charisma.
-We're going deep boys. Jeremy gonna throw some 80 yard bombs.
-Malzahn highlights Duke, Jason Smith, and Ricardo. Mentioins Melvin Ray. Marcus Davis has been a big contributor for us. We have depth at WR which is really rare at AU.
-"Roc has that B button"
he does indeed Gus (he hits that spin move for you old farts)
-Jovon is going to win the job and be our feature back. There's little doubt in my mind.
-Peyton Barber should've signed with Ole Miss. He would get carries for them this year
-Braden Smith causally benches 600lbs.. and that's muscle on that guy not fat so he can pull and move more athletically than Byron Isom who was an expert at pulling in 2010.
-"Everyone in the country knew we were running the football to the left side in 2013..even my wife."
-Kamryn Pettway and Chandler Cox have a critical role. Pettway reminds me of Eric Smith
-Malzahn highlights Cass, Kris, and Tre Williams.. not surprising. Just hope there's some depth behind them. Toney looked capable in the spring. Justin Garrett tells us that means jack shite.
-We know Garner throws around that 6 first rounders drafted at recruits all the time now.
-Monty Adams has flipped the switch according to Malzahn.. if he does he can be the best DT in football. Dontavius Russell will have to capitalize on being single covered.
-Who are you going to double team? Adams? Lawson? Lambert? Cowart? Some OCs are going to have a difficult time.
-We have a shite ton of "best college coaches in college football"
-Malzahn claims we're going to win the national championship.
-Carl Lawson and now Cameron Toney's name is mentioned.
-Malzahn makes it sound like Holsey is going to be the corner opposite JJ3 with Countess at nickel. I like the sound of that.
-Jonathan Wallace takes a lick from Tray Matthews and pops back up. Kodi would've caught that ball.
-T Rob is a defensive version of Trooper Taylor minus the towel
-Start at the dome, finish at the dome. Our schedule sets up in our favor
-Malzahn targets that A&M as a critical game with which we will travel with extreme motivation after last year.
-Malzahn smiles and says we're going to put UGA and Alabama away early in the 4th quarter.. Yeah ok coach!
-"I am one honored guy to be the head coach at Auburn."

That's my own opinion. Anything that doesn't say Malzahn or is in quotes is my own thoughts on what Malzahn says

Gus said that he was the number 1 juco RB and that he has the ability to be really special this year. Showed a highlight from scrimmage game where he showed his patience and speed to take it to the house. Seemed very excited about him as our RB

Nice watch, even if the camera guy was drunk. Wish I could have seen the plays more.
So does Gus typically talk like this? Most interviews/speaking dinners he is pretty reserved, but in that video who came off as very confident, almost...excited? Especially when talking about Johnson and the front line. I'll hesitate to infer anything from his general attitude that he gave off during the video, but it's hard not to get excited as a fan when a normally reserved coach is talking like that about the players.

He spoke confidently at the boys and girls club benefit dinner in Huntsville before the 2013 season but it didn't quite sound like this speech. He's always speaks confidently and with a lot of charisma at these events but this one is a different tone from anyone I've attended or heard before

This was my favorite quote. Never seen Gus this personable, he really seems locked in & ready for this year.
