Willie Taggart of Western Kentucky seems to be a potential rising star. From the Harbaugh coaching tree and is doing good things at WKU. He may be a little inexperienced, but his teams seem well prepared and play hard.

Completely understand the reluctance to go with a "rising star." I would rather get a proven coach that roll the dice with a relative unknown. Taggart is one of the more intriguing young coaches out there. If we're adding Doeren and Hudspeth to the list, we might as well put Taggart on there too.

I'll throw out Jeff Fisher for crazy speculation hire.

Gruden is my #1, and it's not even close.. If 87,000 AU fans gave $100, we'd be able to buy out Chizik and add to Gruden's initial salary..

I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard. It's like going to one game

1. Jim Harbaugh
2. Bobby Petrino
3. Pete Carroll
4. Nick Saban
5. Bill Belichick

This is who we should contact first to see if there's any interest in the position.

Saban wasn't coming to Bama until Mal Moore went to Miami and camped out in a hotel room. He didn't leave until he got the coach he wanted. What ever they pay him has been returned a hundred fold. I'm not saying Gruden would come here, but if you don't sell a guy like him on how much you want him in charge of your program, then you have no chance in hell..

Plus the football universe would literally explode with Saban and Gruden going head to head in the same state.

Gruden cant develop QB either. That is why he got fired in Tampa.

Haha I don't even know if teams like the Steelers, Cowboys, or Packers could get these coaches. I see another under whelming hire and a permanent decline in Auburn football personally. I'll always support Auburn but my outlook long term is grim.

It'd be epic.. That's a matchup history would focus on.. I agree, it's essential that the suits do everything needed to court a proven big name that will solidify a program.
