LINK As an alumnus x 2 of Auburn and considering how UA stock has dropped tremendously this bothers me considering how UA is trying to negotiate a new AU deal currently. Businesses should stay out of politics when it comes to national security issues especially...

It's not politics, it's business. Most companies try to stay on the good side of the White House (no matter if it's democrat or republican held) because federal policy can affect the bottom line. But, like it or not, Trump (and the travel ban) is widely opposed by UA's demographic - 18-29 year olds, who tend to live in urban areas and tend to have a larger minority presence.

Did you watch the Super Bowl? Most commercials were a lot more #BridgesNotWalls than #AmericaFirst. It's not "MEDIA BIAS YALL", it's companies hedging their bet on the younger demographic, because they buy more stuff than 50-60 year old whites - and they are going to be around a lot longer, so their brand loyalty counts more.

True but when they grow up and start paying taxes and dealing in the real world they will change their viewpoints.

I'm grown up, and I pay a significant amount of taxes. But I am of the opinion that Donald Trump is extremely unqualified to be president of the U.S. and that his rushed travel ban was unwise for lots of reasons. He was an okay reality TV host though.

I'm grown up and paying a shite ton of taxes, still waiting to magically turn into a republican like everyone's dad keeps telling me.

A lot of young people aren't turned off from Republicans because of their fight to reduce government spending and taxes, that all sounds great within reason. Its the arse-backwards social stances and denial of climate change in the face of overwhelming evidence. Rising sea levels is going to frick our economy in a couple decades, long after President Trump and many of his voters are gone.

I have been waiting for sea levels to rise for 40 years now.

The science behind climate change is JUNK. None of their predictions have happened. NOT ONE! NOAA has been changing data to fit their argument for years. It won't be reported anywhere in the MSM, but do a little self education, you might be shocked. There is melting in some places, but lots of freezing in others.

But keep protesting, one of these days Al Gore will get SOMETHING right.

As far as the travel ban, it was TEMPORARY. And based on Obama/Clinton Admin Intelligence. Just like the ICE arrests lately. Obama did that, not Trump.

STILL...

Do you want your kids living in a situation like Brussels? I guarantee you they would love to go back and change the policy. They are overrun with ghettos, and "no go" zones. If you are not Muslim, they will beat you, if not kill you.

Keep your head in the sand if you like, but when they come for you, and your family, do not expect me to risk my arse to save you, or them.

Are you Muslim? If not, they are going to kill you. Enjoy your day, and maybe read the Koran for yourself, and stop listening to MSM, and academia. They will kill them first anyway.

For the sake of keeping this a sports board and not a political drag-out I won't respond after this but Jesus man, listen to yourself. What do you think is more likely, that climate change is a grand liberal conspiracy to ruin the US economy by the greater scientific community, spanning tens of thousands of people and every developed nation...or what they are studying actually has merit?

quote:

Yeah, that's the problem. This is also predicted in structural models of an overall rising global temperature. Climate change, as it continues, will further shift localized weather patterns. If you think refugees are a problem now, wait until growing seasons and locations shift and we can no longer grow grain in Kansas or Nigeria. The Western World can't even handle several thousand refugees without lurching to far-right nationalism, what's going to happen when that number starts approaching the millions because or entire agricultural infrastructure is located incorrectly based on the new weather patterns?

Also my problem with many on the right is indicated here: the absolute refusal to believe peer-reviewed scientific evidence because it's biased and elitist, but the one quack scientist who wrote an article on realpatriotnews.net totally has it right. It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

I admire how y'all subtly stopped using 'global warming' and now say 'climate change.'

Too hot one year? Climate change
Too cold? Climate change
Too wet? Climate change
Too dry? Climate change

But let's say for the sake or argument that your faith in climate change is correct and I made you President with unlimited power. What would you DO to fix the supposed problem? Be specific.

Yeah I don't want to get all political on this board. That's what the poli board is for and I like most of you here. I'm a strong Repub with arse-forwards social stance and appreciation for the environment.

And I suppose here you are mainly talking about gays and abortion.

Was it Republicans or leftists / Democrats that recently rioted in Berkeley, CA so as to deny a gay man (Milo) the ability to speak his mind?
