"No, actually, he shouldn’t," Tina Mason responded, via Saturday Down South, "because this is the football that drives everybody that nobody even knows about. He gets knocked around and everything else. There's CTE and this head injury thing. You can say he should be playing football, but this is not what it is. After the offseason we could clearly see the change. Like, completely.”

Tina Mason, who has told authorities her son has “a 10-year-old’s mindset," also said Tre doesn't seem to realize that his actions have put his football career in jeopardy.

"As much as he’s accomplished, as hard as he’s worked, as much as he’s built his character, in record-breaking time it’s going downhill because of what’s going on," she said. "He doesn't even know. He's not conscious enough."

His mother needs to take the matters in her hands or else Tre will end up dead or in prison. To start, her and her family needs to intervene and force Tre to seek medical and mental health. There they can undergo TBI tests to see how much Tre's brain has been altered. And then they can assist Tre in recovery or in adaptation of his mental health.

It's sad to see Tre's story being pushed out by sports journalist hacks like deadspin just to get a laugh out of the audience. I wish there was more investigative attention being brought into the situation by real journalists. The Amerian people needs to know what is going on. Lot of parents might want to make sense of the situation before they send their sons out to play football.

Yeah, this is a real problem. If mental illness can be ruled out (bi-polar, schizophrenia, etc.) then it pretty much means a head injury.

What people don't understand is that it doesn't take a highlight reel hit to produce brain damage. You never even need to have suffered a concussion. It's a cumulative effect over time, over several seasons. A running back would be a prime candidate for this type of abuse. All those shots you take running up the middle takes a toll over time and is the main reason the NFL has limited contact during camps now (you can barely hit anyone at all in the NFL unless it's a game). And we all know Tre was aggressive at AU and ran like he was a much bigger guy than he was.

Another issue is the athletes are bigger and stronger now than ever, which means harder hits than ever. I think we're going to see more of this and eventually all of CFB will take the Ivy League approach -- no hitting at all in practice. It's coming, get ready. I could even see hitting being banned during games one day in the distant future.

Yeah, this sucks for fans, but then again, fans aren't the ones risking it.

force Tre to seek medical

From personal experience, this is very, very difficult to do. My brother was bipolar, and unless they are proven to be a danger to themselves or others, the best you can get is a 72 hour evaluation. It's a really tough situation to live through.
