No real story line there IMO Sean White may not even be able to throw this Spring.

Im hopeful for Stidham, but man you gotta feel for White. That interview after the Sugar Bowl was painful.

Curious about how OL shakes out. Would like Braden Smith to stay at guard but in order to get best 5 on field might have to jump to RT so Horton starts

Also curious to see who takes Adams spot. Really hoping either Cowart or Brown blows up this spring and becomes clear replacement

Can Paul James stay healthy? Injuries set him back last year. I would love to see him get after QBs this fall. IMO it is import he plays at a high level.

How will Byron Cowart handle the move to DT?

Can Prince Tega earn a starting spot or will Braden Smith or Austin Golsen have to move out to OT? I would consider this the 2nd most important piece to our puzzle after QB. The oline play was below average last year and if we have to depend on Golson or Smith at tackle it ain't good...honestly I hope we don't have to depend on James either at tackle.

How different will the new offense look? Will it look different at all?

Will Nick Coe emerge as a starter? Who replaced Carl Lawson?

Will we utilize our new TE Sal Cannella? Will we utilize a TE at all?

My first post on the QB situation. Probably not my last one.

Someone talk me out of my excitement for Stidham.

Don't use past experiences with QB disappointments. One coin toss does not predict the next one.

Watching his highlights of throws during division 1 games (at Baylor) makes him look like a shoo in for the starter.

Am I way off base?

Don't agree with that at all. I think we had one of the better OLs in the SEC. It wasn't the dominant force of 2013 but it was good enough to win.

I do agree though that OL is 2nd most important piece behind QB. I honestly have no idea at all who starts where. I could see any number of combinations including all 3 returning starters playing different spots in 2017

our oline was sporadic at times last season but more for coaching blunders than lacking talent. having Smith try to pull to block Miles Garrett immediately comes to mind. that should have never happened twice. if there is any reason to temper your excitement for Stidham it would be questions at tackle again.

When we moved Golson back to center, James to LT and stopped using dumb blocking schemes I thought group was solid. Not elite but definitely not below average

Agree completely on tackles. I think there's some big time upside but not sure if they will be ready in 2017. Big question to answer this off season for sure

I thought the Oline was solid. The sample size is small because we hardly threw the ball. I would like to think this new OC will utilize the quick passes like Chad Kelly did against us to minimize stress on our OTs.

LT - James
LG - HOrton
C - Golsen
RG - Harrel
RT - Smith

Horton could have started last year IMO.

The O-line is as important as the QB situ. If Stidham is 75% as good as advertised AND stays healthy, we win the West. Having the O-line protection is the missing piece we need to find to make that all come together. We have the other Offensive and Defensive weapons in place to make the run.

It's not who wins the QB competition. It's do we have a QB who is as good as we expect him to be.

We go as our QB goes next year. End of story

Stidham can be 100% of what we think and we could still lose the West to Alabama

Pretty much. Unless our offense sees an explosion I don't see us or anyone else beating bama. They've went to back to back nattys with a running back at qb lol. They could probably beat 90% of the teams they play without attempting a single pass.

To beat them we will need to outscore them. We need an offense like 2013 TAMU 2013 ORegon etc

Deon Mix is transferring. Cameron Toney is not with team but Gus not sure if will transfer. Both are graduates. Markell Boston booted from team

KJ Britt and Darius Slayton will miss spring ball recovery from surgeries. Kyle Davis out till spring break for personal reasons. Doubtful Sean White practices in spring

Golson sticking at C. Braden Smith starting at RT and Franklin opens as starting QB

That's random. I liked Boston.
