San Francisco Giants right-hander Tim Hudson entered his start Sunday with 219 career big-league wins. All that winning has brought Hudson to four All-Star games and a World Series ring last season, but there was still one team out there he had yet to vanquish: the Oakland Atlhetics, the franchise he was drafted by back in 1997.
That changed Sunday as the Giants topped the A's 4-3 with Hudson earning the win to become the 15th pitcher to beat all 30 major league teams. He joins a group that includes Hall of Famer Randy Johnson, as well as Barry Zito, A.J. Burnett and Dan Haren.

He got his ring though...that wasn't going to happen with the Braves.

Meh he will always be a Brave and it was in both parties interest to part ways.

Yeah I know. I also know he got paid, which he deserved. I also know he got his ring, which he also deserved.
But damn, I hate to see a good man leave my team.

Agreed. Lots of good men have left ATL recently.. which reminds me I really hope Maybin isn't the next one to go

Hopefully he is. We have better CF options in the minors and it would be great to sell high on him. Won't happen until the off season

The braves are so woefully managed that all of this good personnel decisions will go to waste.

I disagree (unless you're talking about the manager Fredi, in which case I will not argue against you ) Wren wasn't perfect but several disastrous contacts handcuffed the team. Hart and Coppy have received a lot of applause for how they've rebuilt the farm and how the team has competed despite the loss of so many star players.
I can fire off some links if you're interested in it

quote:Meh. The return you'd get even selling high isn't high enough for me to agree that we should move him. Our OF depth in general in the farm is shite and I'd move Markakis way before I'd move Maybin.

Push comes to shove Maybin can play a corner outfield spot if you really want Mallex Smith in CF. Trade Markakis and see what corner outfielder we can land in the market next year (Maybe Justin Upton if we want to go that route again?) Who knows.

Markakis doesn't have much value at 11M a year though '18. The best we'll do for him is having his contract picked up and maybe a mid level prospect. He's productive but he's on the wrong side of 30 and he's got no power. Some may return in the offseason when he can train and condition without having a neck surgery to contend with but his best days are behind him.
Maybin has had a solid year but he has outperformed his career average. Sure, he has shortened up his swing but he's still only posting a pedestrian .OPS. All of the other offensive statistics are in that above average - good range. Defensively, his UZR is really, really bad in CF so LF may be a better fit long term. His defensive WAR is -1.5 (BJ's was - .06 through 1200 innings) Gotta sell high on him or extend him past '17 but move him over to LF and hope he doesn't fall apart. He has been plagued with injuries and is putting together a solid year with an attractive contract.
But it will be interesting to see what they do with him. He's signed through '16 with an option for '17. He's only owed a 1 million buyout if the Braves or whoever decides to cut him after '16.
We're stockpiling more pitching prospects than we could ever use. We've already got guys pitching on levels ahead of schedule because of too much depth. That lends one to think that we're going to be trading some of those guys sooner than later. I think it is most likely that we will acquire bats through a trade rather than free agency.
The braves are in a pretty great place in terms of future potential. Financially you're practically working with a clean slate. The only obligations in place are Freddie, Simba, and Julio.
