Well JJ and other just made it impossible to move within the 30s unless you are willing to pay scholarship prices. Now sections 3-9 and 28-31 are scholarship for anyone upgrading their seats.

I've never understood JJ's attitude toward ticket sales. It is mind boggling. He seems to enjoy raking ticket holders over the coals.

This kind of thing is what makes me very comfortable sitting on my couch in front of the 60" HDTV.

As long as ticket holders are willing to hand him money while they are being raked over the coals....

If you have tickets in those sections already you don't have to upgrade to scholarship. I guess those people would be "grandfathered in".

AU athletics is a business and must drive revenue, especially in the light of ever increasing competition for recruits, facilities, coaches, entertainment, etc. Its damn hard. I get that.

However, This kind thing makes it hard for me and my family. We do pretty well economically, but I have kids in college and other things I need to pay for. Going to Auburn games is a luxury. I love it. it is a priority, but not as big as some other demands on our paychecks. This is why I made the HDTV and leather couch comment. My discretionary dollars toward Auburn reduce down to a couple of games a year I will throw money at. I cant afford 4-5 season tix that are not in the nose bleeds.

I'm wondering what happens if this "pay the players crap" ever comes to fruition. Mainly, where do people think that money is going to come from?

I know there are billions of dollars flowing through and around college football, but I doubt many parties are going to accept less than they're getting now. Would all athletes get paid the same or would it be "market based?" Are the volleyball team, the baseball team, the equestrian team, the cross country team, etc. going to get paid too? If not, it seems like a huge Title IX issue.

Sorry for the off-topic rant, but to bring it back on topic, I see that it has the potential to have a big (and adverse) impact on ticket prices. That might be the point we give ours up.
