It's embarassing that we lost our best offensive and defensive player in THE SAME DAY. WTF is Gus???? DOING??? JJ has lost control of Gus and GUS has lost control OF THE TEAM.

Fire JJ
FIRE GUS

Seriously though.

If it's true, how does auburn let that happen? Are we that bad at developing talent? The dude looked like he could be a stud.

Yeah, Auburn just hasn't produced a RB since Gus has been at AU. I mean, everyone knew Mason would set records, and that Peyton Barber would contribute as much as he did.

We're a Dumpster Fire right now. Truth hurts but there's no need to deny or make excuses.

Nothing currently happening with Auburn sports gives us any hope for a positive outcome but if you want to go full PosiBarner who am I to stop you

I don't feel all rainbows and unicorns but I don't think we are a dumpster fire, just finishing an off year.

I feel cautiously optimistic about all major sports teams improving significantly from last year. I think football we are a lot more competitive, but we finish ~7-8 win depending on bowl opponent

Roc Thomas may have been down the line on the depth chart, but I feel like he could've made a sizable impact in the slot. It would've added another playmaker out wide that Auburn lacks...

I'm concerned about the running back depth and personnel moving forward.

This.

I mean, ideally your talented players stick on the roster for a shot toward the end of their eligibility but some of these athletes are chasing dreams of their own and it's fair for them to seek playing time.

I don't know if I'd call it an off year. For the past decade really, off years have been successful years if we are being fully honest.

With that said, nothing about the news today changes any of that and is no reason to melt like some on this board

I mean, it kinda does though. Mostly Roc... he accounted for nearly 500? yards of offense last season. That's probably enough offense to change game outcomes

He and KJ were kinda becoming the same player and KJ was clearly viewed as more reliable

Lock/anchor/delete as you see fit. I'm not comfortable changing the OP after this many people have replied to it

I agree with this and will add to it, Roc has a tendency to get fancy when he shouldn't leaving himself open to taking weird angled shots causing fumbles. he would spin when a simple lunge gets him a few more yards, he would lunge when he should have cut. KJ seems to go a little quicker to gain more yards and has more upside if he stays healthy. Losing a potentially playmaker would hurt but this isn't the end of the world at the spot he is with the skill set he has.

I agree that 500 yards in a season could be the difference between 5 wins and 7 but who is to say that another player couldn't have gotten 800 yards in those opportunities?

Losing Irvin sucks IMO, I know a lot of people look at measurables but I look at where he is and how he plays. I liked this kid and thought he could have been a damn good headhunter like a freshman Daron Bates was. Losing him hurts. Losing Roc wouldn't be the end of the world, of course i would like to keep him for quality depth.

None of Roc's 3 total fumbles in two years have come in this fashion.

Never fumbled while spinning. In fact, 1/2 fumbles due to contact were from interior no dancing lunging/fighting for an extra yard
