LOL. Everybody needs a story like that.

I have always been able to handle things and not pass out. One night at a resort in Dominican, I spent a bunch of hours at a lobby bar. Live jazz music till 2am then a guy on the piano for hours. According to the resort, the lobby bar never closes. But I disagreed with them and won.

Vodka Martinis all night long. My wife was not my friend the next morning.

All sound delicious. I think I'll go with the don blanco for now. I really enjoyed the anejo. Been seeing that herradura a lot recently and will likely be next. thanks

Gunterville was a wave pool Saturday. Wind blowing out of the South against the current. Awful. Actually bought a drift sock yesterday to see if it'd help in those high wind, high current situations. Seems that's the standard conditions when we fish there. Half of our guys didn't even leave the creek we launched from.

I am not a huge tequila drinker, but I always liked Herradura better than Patron.

Lake Martin was a nightmare on Saturday. I continue to hate that beautiful lake with a passion. Fish were scattered all over the place chasing bait balls, which weren't all that easy to find..(for an amateur like me at least).

Focus on points and humps, the more stumps the better. Deep docks as well.

Lanier would acclimate to Lake Martin well: deep, clear, infertile, with big spots and stripe. Right up his alley!

I have fished Martin hundreds of times. My two biggest tournament "could have beens" happened at Martin

I fished a BFL there years ago. Had the winning bag of fish on board and my engine blew up. Could not get a ride in and did not get to weigh my fish. 14 and some change won the event. I had 16 on board.

I fished a Everstart there many years ago as well. I was on a serious deep bite. It was late in the year. I was catching my fish deep around trees in 60 feet of water. I had come over in the summer and built some deep brush piles for the event. They were all over my stuff. I had 15 brush piles and 12 of them were loaded.

The first day of the tournament, I had a very good catch and was in the top 10. The second day, we had a major front and the wind was blowing 35. They held us till almost lunch then let us go out for 3 hours and fish. I could not even get to the lower end of the lake to fish. Had to just wing it up north. Totally destroyed my head. I only got one fish and missed the top 10 cut of the 3rd day.

Got a check but if I things did not change, I would have probably won that event. I was on so many fish, I could have pounded them every day. The weights really feel off after the first day as most of the guys fished shallow. No way I would have run out of fish. 13-14 pounds a day in a hour. Just needed to be able to sit on top of them

But that is tournament fishing and is why I dont do that for a living even though I have won a few big ones

Caught these fish on one lure in one day of fishing. I was bummed by the small number, but enjoyed my time in Canada anyway. I'm kind of hiding my embarrassment posing with the captain. I knew my buddies would think it was a waste of my money and should have caught more.

Since we covered tequila, I want to hear from the bourbon drinkers and I mean the ones the drink it neat or on the rocks, if you have to mix bourbon then you're buying the wrong stuff. Personally I have been enjoying Clyde May's lately. What's you favorite bourbon?

Like the Clyde, been on a Four Roses kick, like the single barrel.

Also like Buffalo Trace on the cheaper end

Question for the neat/rocks drinkers....I have some of the stones to use to keep your drink cold without it getting watered down and they work fine, any of you use the stainless steel ones?

If you're new to bourbon on the rocks I recommend Four Roses yellow label, it's the light beer of bourbon in my opinion. I drink my bourbon in a rocks glass with 3 cubes of ice and as the ice melts the favor of the bourbon changes.
