Spending way too much time working in the yard/house lately.
I hear ya. Just had 7 trees removed, putting on a new roof in a few weeks, fighting with our lawn treatment service for not doing their damn job, and of course the gutters need to be re-pitched.

I won't go through the list of interior house projects that need to be done

You should make them wear those Asian slippers while inside

Cant have her not work. She is 21 years into a 25 year career. We are about 5 years from shutting it down full time, moving south and just working two days a week each, sitting on the beach 5 days a week under a big "frick everyone" umbrella. We are close. Very close

That sounds awesome. I am resolved to working until I drop dead at this point. No regrets though. The wife and I had a long conversation about 10 years ago, and she had a career she really wanted.

What that means for me though is that I move as her job moves.

The only stipulation I have at this point is if she gets an opportunity to move south we will consider it.

I have decided shoveling snow sucks.

It's been severely overfished in recent years but you can still catch some nice fish. I'd stick to the Seibold Creek or North Sauty areas.

I'd love to believe if jangalang was let back on here he would not just flame the place up. Maybe after a good long while we can do a post quality review and think about reinstatement.

I wish I was out west. My buddy pays almost nothing for service and they work their arse off, don't cut corners and cost less

You can try some Mezcal. Tequila is a type of Mezcal that is specific to a certain region in Mexico, yo ucan find some other different types of Mezcal that are more friendly priced for top end

See, I knew this thread would eventually be awesome.....

There are tons of them but I will recommend a few that are pretty easy to acquire and priced good.

I am not sure how you are drinking it so I will just assume you are mixing it with something. Mix or lime juice or grapefruit, etc. For mixing, I like blanco (clear/Silver) tequila. If you are down for just sipping it on ice or neat, I would recommend a darker blend. Just make sure the tequila you get is 100% agave. That is pretty much most of the good tequilas and is what keeps you from feeling like shite after drinking it.

My favorite as you know is and always has been Don Julio Blanco. Its about $75 for a 1.75L bottle which is a big arse bottle of tequila. This is pretty much my goto for anything tequila. Its on all my Christmas lists

Hurradura also makes a very good tequila. Its cheaper than Don and is pretty much everywhere. I can find it most places around here for $50-$60 for a 1.75L bottle.

EL Mayor Blanco is probably my second choice and what I will get if cost is an issue. It is about half the cost of Don and is very very good. Its a little hard to find but if you can get it, try it. They also make a dark blend that is very good

Don't let people tell you bullshite. Patron silver is very good tequila. Its pretty close to Julio and easily found. For some reason people like to talk shite on it but it is excellent. Cost about the same as the Don Julio

Avion Tequila is also a great blanco blend. Its pretty easy to find and about $50 for a big bottle. If I am entertaining a bunch of people who are drinkers, I will get a few bottles of this to mix.

I am gonna throw this one in for special occasions. If you get a few extra Benjamin's and feel like splurging on some sipping juice, Don Julio 1942 is your jam

Expensive but nice for a treat. I have found it for $125 before but usually about $150

As stated above, Mezcal is very good. But it really is not tequila. Its similar but different. I had never tried it till a few years back when I got supremely drunk on a Mexico beach trip. Most people know Mezcal because it is the original tequila with the worm in the bottle. My wife dared me to get a bottle and eat the worm. I am nothing if not brave when I drink. I did it and thats that.

Mezcal is made from a different type of plant but is just like tequila. Here is a great article about it and is worth the read

The summary of the article

-Mezcal is the general name of any agave liquor

-Tequila is specifically a blue agave Mezcal liquor made a certain way. Only certain regions of Mexico can make it

-Most people when saying "Mezcal" refer to the non tequila Mezcals.

Basically it is like a granny smith apple vs a fuji apple, they are similar in nature but do have distinct differences

Pretty much what I got from it. For most of us, they are the same. Its not like we can really tell a lot of difference from the basic blends of Mezcal. They are made from the same basic ingredients just mixed different and from different blends.

Technically, it is not a tequila but for most of us, its tequila.

I have only tried two different types of Mezcal and they pretty much taste the same. I am just not a good enough connoisseur to tell the difference.

Mezcal (spellcheck keeps putting Mescaline, stories are pretty close) cost me 18 hours of my life one time. I vaguely remember everyone getting me to eat the worm. We were at Deer Camp, on a Friday night. When I woke up everyone was heading out for the afternoon hunt on Saturday.

It was good stuff, so I felt okay. But that was my last worm.
