Pretty remarkable how much a silly rumor can upset seemingly all 12 fan bases (Vandy not included). West mad because they like their current ties. East mad because they know the threat we pose. Mizzou mad. Alabama mad. Tennessee mad. UGA mad. LSU mad. They all mad.

This topic is better material we've had in an offseason for awhile

Eta: As it currently stands roughly 50% of the front page is about Auburn. Way to go boys The rant's hatred of the most authentic SEC school continues to thrive. May it never die off. War Eagle

It will happen. They better get comfy with the idea.

It's not a rumor

We are about to add 2 teams to the SEC and we will go to the East at that point.

I really pissed off some UT fans with a thread that was clearly a joke

Usually when there is this much smoke being released to the public; a ton of conversations have already happened in private.

Saying we will add two teams and move is much different than believing we will actually move under the current system. That will never happen.

And who would those two teams be?
1.Oklahoma? - Not without Oklahoma State.
2. Oklahoma State? - Same as above.
3. Texas? - Not without Oklahoma
4. NC State? - Maybe
5. UNC? - Not without Duke
6. DUKE? - Same as above
7. Virginia Tech? - Not without UVA
8. UVA? - Same as above
9. West Virginia? - possibly but not likely

All of the teams I just listed would be a package deal except maybe NC State and West Virginia after that we are left with simply mid majors say Houston. Memphis. etc

So who?

Whoever the SEC wants. We are the cash cow of the nation. It doesn't matter what school you mentioned. Each and every one of them would make more money in the SEC than they are currently receiving.

Joining the SEC also commits you to an arms race. You can make less and profit more in the ACC IMO. It sort of like the way small markets figured out how to turn a profit without winning big in baseball.

Before A&M jumped would you have said they were tied to Texas?

Eta: I could see UNC and Oklahoma both jumping without carrying their rival school.

I would be shocked if UNC jumped. They are a basketball school and the ACC is the best basketball conf. in the nation, IMO. I would love to get them though.

I'd be surprised as well but if they jump I don't see them saying "well we'll only come if you invite Duke too"

Yep Jacobs is starting the posturing with his PR yesterday.

Not really sure if we will add teams to the league, however the Oklahoma talk has been simmering for months now. I think we'll see a 9 game conference schedule and be done.

I hope we don't add 2 more teams? Why is there the push? SEC is the standard, why water it down any further? More teams =/= better. In fact, adding A&M and Mizzou watered down the product enough. No more FL games, TN games, which used to be great.

Get off my lawn. Give me 10 teams. Get lost arKansas, USCe, aTm, & Mizzou.

Seriously guys, how awesome would it be to play in our historic territory again? We could basically drive to every away game. Schedule Ga Tech every year, and if the Braves ever decide to play baseball again; I would probably move back to Auburn and never leave.

UNC looks down on the SEC big time. I can't imagine them "lowering themselves" to ever join the SEC.

This ^ if UNC and Duke both ever head to greener pastures then there goes the ACC along with them. plus I remember reading somewhere that the ACC comish is an UNC grad? so he would probably rather join ISIS than see the ACC crumble
