Not Jay Jacobs doing interviewing from how I understood the conversations. Bob Stools was only in Auburn. Don't know why could be as a consultant on AD and HC hires

I expect some coaches established at schools (i.e. Stoops) will use these coaching openings to better their own contracts. Auburn is a big enough program to produce a large $ contract, easy leverage for a coach to milk a few more $ out of their current school.

Got some info... (these things are always fluid, but believe this to be solid)

When we lose to UGA, the announcement will be made on Monday that Chizik is stepping down...

JJ is being retained for now for spin control purposes. The President does not want to have too much change at one time.

Others will be involved in the coaching search, but 100% TJ will not be one of them.

what spin?

He made a terrible decision with chiz buy out, revenue sports suck at auburn, so we retain him so he can be visible and maligned while lookign for a new coach?

Based off of how stupid it is to do it this way i can beleive it's correct, but i hope it isn't

and what's the point of holding onto chiz until after the UGA game.

Same amount of moeny as if we'd done it 11/1 right?

Oh also no "grain of salt" disclaimer, going with fluid now?

I'm seeing post from JJ supporters that suggest he has a home run hire lined up. Any idea's who that could be and what would qualify as a home run in JJ's mind?

ETA: I don't know if he was serious or just naming coaches but AUstudent22 from ITAT was defending Jacobs and Mchoweveryouspellit and he threw out the name of Jason Garrett HC of the Cowboys.

I'm not sure if it would be. I don't watch NFL games since the networks switched my AFC market from the Dolphins to the Titans a few years back but my best guess is because he is a young NFL coach.

ETA: I'm probably reading way to much into it but here is the post from AUStudent22.

Do you want someone to get something done, you know make something happen?. All I see from the minions is complaining about any and everyone of "influence" and then the constant stiching about nothing happening, no blood on the ground, no one piloting the motor coach.

They want one guy for head coach then slay his benefactor. They think someone would be the coolest guy for AD ever and then tear apart his base and faction. Plebs run a muck.

i dont' watch the nfl enough to base my opinion on any observations other than the fact that i know the cowboys aren't great, i think he's about to get fired and i don't think he's coached anywhere by the NFL

To me it seems that anyone calling him a home run would be a football version of a star fricker...doesn't matter who he is, just so long as hes' in the nfl

I am confident in my Chizik comment, we will know Monday. (See below).

I did not say I wanted JJ, in fact I hope he is gone. (That is the fluid part)

JJ will stand in front of the media because Gogue does not want to...

He will thank Chizik for the Nattie, for all he has done for Auburn and that he will be remembered fondly by the Auburn people... He will say that after discussions with Gene that they both felt that this is best for Auburn and that for the future a change was needed. He will say what a great man, father and coach Gene is and that we wish him the best in his future endeavors... He will announce that Gene has agreed to coach the rest of the season. God Speed Gene Chizik.

so to avoid being the face of the movement ot oust folks (a movement that is overdue), JJ will be retained so he can be the executioner?

The guy who is responsible for this shite show will be retained becuase gouge doesn't want to stand in front of the media?

God auburn is beyond fricked if this is true.

These aren't the same folks telling you that JJ was to be fired last wednesday are they?

I do not remember posting anything about JJ being fired last Wednesday..in fact the opposite... Even checked my old post..

There are supporters for JJ, there is not a solid interim AD candidate...

was it not you?

There are so many out there spreading "what i heard" information that never comes to pass that it's hard to keep up with which baseless rumor goes to which poster.

We can fire an AD at any time of the year, coaching, not so much. And if we were to fire an AD and Coach, more than likely we would need to appoint an AD before a coaching hire. Firing Jacobs, this late in the game is not a good idea.

I'd make it known that his(Jacobs) job is dependent on a home run hire and make sure there are a system of checks in place to make sure Jacobs does not hold majority power in a new HC search/decision
