Looking for updates on some players and if they will get playing time (PT). Anyone know anything about how these guys are doing that I missed? Feel free to ask about others as well

Deon Mix: Highly rated and never talked about ever competing for a role

Jordan Diamond: Don't know if he is always injured or just not seriously in contention

Justin Thornton: Is it just gaining weight or is he just not progressing?

Gimel President: Is he going to be solidly in the rotation? He started getting more minutes last year

Javierre Mitchell: Keeps getting brought up periodically (both EJ and Boom) but no definitive word on if he will get PT

K. Harrell: WTF is going on with him? Will he ever be healthy?

Cam Toney/Deshaun Davis: Are they mop up duty or will they see PT?

Kenny Flowers: I'm going to assume he is a special teams only player now outside mop up duty

Jonathan Wallace: WR transition but is he going to just fade until he graduates? Maybe hold kicks?

President is the only one of those players that saw any meaningful time.

There's gonna be some folks that get upset at some of these guys not panning out but that's the beauty of having 85 schollys. Most of these kids are solid back-ups, some aren't going to do anything meaningful.

Mix came in at 345lbs so he had a lot of work to do in order to get ready. His first year was spent on strength and conditioning moreso than developing through reps as a SEC-caliber OG. He looks good though and I imagine he'll be in this year's 2-deep with Slade gone. Danzey will be gone next year and Kozan could go with a good draft grade considering he should have his degree by then

Mix
Will be in the 2 deep.

quote:

Diamond
He just doesn't have what it takes.

quote:

Thornton
He'll be a RS Soph that spent all of the first year gaining weight. This one can't be answered yet.

quote:

President
Will be in the rotation at DE which is all we could've asked for when we signed him.

quote:

Mitchell
Hot air between the ears.

quote:

Harrell
A figment of your imagination.

quote:

Toney
Fits Muschamp much better than he fit in Johnson's 425. Should've signed to Tennessee because he'd have fit in from Day 1 up there

quote:

Davis
Will be a sophomore right? Who knows.

quote:

Flowers
Probably roommates with Keymiya Harrell

quote:

J Wall
Heck of a sideline motioner. He held kicks last year

RS FR

Jordan Diamond:

Javierre Mitchell

K. Harrell
All injury prone that will never make a significant impact on the field.

Is Will Adams still on the team and has he ever played a down?

We "Stole" him from Georgia Tech on signing day if I remember.

Yes and he has gotten some praise by Grime last year. He likely ends up a 2nd string guy next two years

I am fine with that. I just want to know how kids are doing we haven't heard about. Sometimes guys are doing better than the lack of info and we just don't know

I haven't heard a lot about how he's been doing trying to gain weight or if he performed well considering he is still undersized

Deon Mix: 3rd center is starting to make noise but younger guy ahead of him will be good backup 2016.

Jordan Diamond: always injured but now healthy. I believe he will start (not next year)before he leaves.

Justin Thornton: needs another year

Gimel President: will be in rotation

Javierre Mitchell: in the mix for small PT but special team player.
K. Harrell: another that is healthy. He will play some if he can stay healthy.

Cam Toney/Deshaun Davis: both have played good in Booms system but it might be hard to get on the field this year exc. special teams.

Kenny Flowers: special team

Jonathan Wallace: think Kodi Burns. a great young man.

Love Jonathon Wallace. If his talent was half as big as his heart, Auburn would have it's 4th and 5th Heisman Trophies by now.

I've heard tons of praise about Davis in practice. He's only a redshirt freshman.

Justin Thorton will also only be a redshirt FR so don't write him off. I think he'll end up good. He may get buried on he depth chart now because we have so many beasts at DE, but he could be one of those guys who breaks out as an upper classman after guys ahead of him go pro.
