@colecubelic have you heard anything about Kevin Greene letting the Ath Dept. he wants to interview for a job with the new DC?

Either something is in the air or Tara wants Kevin out of the damn house.

Great thing about IF Kevin Greene was hired... it wouldn't be a "reach" courtesy job for a former player. He's played on SB teams and he's coached on a Superbowl champion. Clay Matthews gives KG all the credit in the world for his success as a player. Other players do too. Its obvious he's a helluva coach and players love to be coached by him.

If this happened to occur, what position would he coach? OLB? DE?

I would imagine he could be a pretty dynamic recruiter too.

Whatever position he wants to coach

Jay Jacobs has been handing out money like we're printing it so I don't understand why the announcement hasn't already been made

It's like Jacobs likes giving is reasons to bitch about him

I thought Greene and Steele had an altercation while with the Panthers? Regardless, I think it would be a pretty good hire.

This would be awesome -- Lot of people don't remember that Greene was in ROTC at AU and actually served in the reserve - Airbone and ended up Capt. Usually just think about his long hair and rasslin. He was always a manimal and has a connect with Steele. Bring him home!

Again, we're looking right to our alumni to fill positions. Let's hire the best coaches we can, not just the alumni.

Somebody ban this guy, he's either the most miserable person on this board or not an AU fan.

Does he have ANY coaching experience? Is he ready to recruit and put in the hours necessary? Don't see it happening.. HUGE KG fan, but get a grip.

Yes. About four or five years as linebacker coach.

He coached LBs for Green Bay (under Dom Capers) from 2009 to 2013. When he left GB, Mike McCarthy and Dom Capers tried very hard to get him to stay.

He wears a Super Bowl ring as the GB LB coach in 2010.

He's a potential (and already should be) Pro Football HoF'er.

So can he coach? Clay Matthews credits Greene for much of his success.

Can he recruit? Unknown. But the Clay Matthews card, Super Bowl ring, and Pro Football HoF (potentially) are nice assets to walk into a recruits home with.
