KJ runs so hard and I know he gets banged up easily but I think he has so much passion that it bleeds over to the other guys on the team. It fits well with our personality on defense. I've been very critical of Gus lately for sure, but for whatever reason we have a lot of great leaders this year and Stidham is one of them but KJ is the soul, particularly on offense. Its not lost on me that we're improving greatly since KJ has returned.

Wish we could have played Clemson with a 100% KJ. Probably would have found a way to get in down on the 1 yard line and would have given us a good check down option when Clemson was bringing the house the whole second half.

Unfortunately we will probably never see 100% KJ except for the 1st game of each season.

Agree. He hasn't been as electric since his freshman year, but he is a gamer and leader.

Me too. Im still astonished at how ineffective Pettway has been this year. If you look back at last years runs, he was so much faster and shiftier (word?)

If you've had plantar fasciitis you'd understand. I'm just amazed we are still playing him. I wish we'd just sit him and give more carries to Miller and Barrett to spell KJ. He just isn't healthy.

I was impressed with all the backs that played on Saturday, with the exception of Pettway, of course. However, KJ is so special to watch. His ability to find holes is impressive.

I have. Its sucks I know. Hopefully, he is doing the stretching exercises and wearing the boot at night.

That boot was the only thing that eventually got me through it.

Yep.

I get that the coaches want to get him touches and stuff, but at some point they have to realize that he is just hurt an dis hurting them team when he is in. Miller and Barrett looked great the few carries they got. Both were very quick and ran hard.

How long of a recovery time does it take?

It is shame to see him running as a shell of his former self.

And you have to give it to KJ. He puts it all out there every time he is on the field. I don't think anyone could doubt that kid's competitive spirit or heart.

This. He looks a lot more physical out there than I anticipated. Really wish he would get some more carries.

I believe it is more than just the foot. He looks out of shape and uninspired. There has to be something going on behind the scenes.

The boot is a major PIA...had to wear it for a chronic Achilles tendon issue years ago but would take it off in my sleep...I ended up having surgery.

Not an MD, but I think appropriate treatment is resting it and the boot. Once it goes chronic, surgery is inevitable. Maybe that means they're playing him as much as he can tolerate and are planning surgery post-season.

I would think it could be related. A chronic and painful injury could lead to both of those things.

Barrett, Miller and Martin all need more carries. KJ and Pettway are both hurt, and neither will heal without time off.

Out of all the backs, I was most impressed with Miller Saturday night. He made an 11 and 8 yard run out of what KJ would've been a 1 or 2 yard run. He hits the hole hard.

I've battled it for 15 years. Really only flares up if I wear the wrong shoes or the wrong shoes without Superfeet. I still ice most days after my runs and only pull out the dreaded boot when necessary.

With Planters, you want to wear the boot at night especially. The point is to keep the foot at a angle where the injury can heel.

For people that have had planters, they will tell you that in the morning you can barely get out of bed and walk to the bathroom. The boot helps that tremendously.

I also did the stretching exercises and rolled a frozen bottle of water under my foot about a billion hours. None of that did anything until I put the boot on at night and wore it till I woke in the morning
