But since Gus arrived at Auburn in 2013 we're 2nd in the SEC in wins at 35 behind only bama. Obviously if Gus doesn't get the QB spot fixed this won't matter in the future. Just trying to put some perspective out there.

But his wins don't count and his losses count twice

Are you sure this is true?

Yeah, but.....

3 consecutive years of disappointment and inability to reach potential.

How many of those wins are against Bama and UGA?

We lost Lawson & Kozan before the 2014 season which really hurt. I'm not trying to defend Gus at times im completely confused about what Gus is trying to do with the offense. His entire career at Auburn will come down to what he does at QB this off-season & next season.

I can't figure it out. I read stats like this, but then I think about the categorical shite-show that is the quarterback position, from the lack of recruiting and development and and playcalling and contingency plans due to injuries.

And then I think about going to the national championship, and then I think about three years of UGA & Bama games since then.

And then I think about the 1,000 yard rushers we amass, and then I think about how thin we are at the position and haven't scored a rushing touchdown in the last 11 quarters of SEC and the massacre of our first down stats.

And then I think about going to the Sugar Bowl, and then I think about how I have zero confidence in this shitty coaching squad to develop a gameplan to find success.

It's absolutely maddening.

Inability to adapt to current circumstances....

When we flip a straight, it's easy to look great. When we have to start actually playing, reading tendencies, odds, etc. we suck

Looks like a reflection that it is hard sledding in the SEC right now. We may be the 2nd best SEC team this season, but we are pretty average even when healthy.

Auburn has 18
LSU 18
Missouri 17
and UGA 19 since 2013

I don't think any other school is close to those.

My complaint about Gus is his insatiable need to be thought of as the smartest coach ever. He overthinks everything and seems to honestly believe we can't win a marquee game unless he imparts his offensive genius by using a plethora of trick plays. I can't count the number of drives we've had in which it seems we're clicking on all cylinders just to have it stall out because of some unnecessary trick play. My problem isn't that Gus isn't a good coach, it's that he could be a much better coach if he could leave his insecurities outside the stadium.

I would argue that at this point, 2013 is an outlier. 2014, 2015, and 2016 seem to be the norm. What do win totals look like for those 3 years?

Did you realize that if you don't count 2010, that Gene Chizik and Cam Newton never won a national championship?

It's true!

So we've got 3 nearly identical years in terms of performance and results......and one that is absolutely an outlier.....and some of us want to use the lightning in a bottle year to make an argument. By that shite logic and statistics, we never should have fired Gene Chizik.

Its not just 'excluding the best year'

Its excluding a year that makes no logical sense and plays no role in an actual trend.

I'm not saying fire Gus, but I do hate shitty logic.

We came in second in all of the SEC. The thing that is maddening is that if we don't beat Bama - they win a title, every year. There is no hope UF beats bama. None. Also, the trick plays and Cox at QB shite was horrible. Never worked

You could use the "take out best and worst year" to have an even more true answer but Gus really hasn't been here long enough to do that
