I think there's only a few left who believe Gus can still turn this around and get our program amongst the consistently elites. Watching the NFL games today, I can't believe we averaged about 1 fricking yard per play. I mean Clemsons D-line is fantastic, but if we want to be elite then our O-line needs to be equal and opposite fantastic, say F that, pull one out of their arse and block them. Stidham needs a calm the frick down slap on the arse and told to just let it rip in less than 3 seconds in the pocket. Beat reporters need to hammer Gus that he is calling plays and we're the only team that throws the ball in the country without intermediate passing routes.

I think the only way to avoid another auburn man coach is to get some type of NFL guy. Gotta be careful so we don't wind up with a Mora Jr but I think there's a few out there. Get the fricking checkbooks out and bounce JJs arse to the curb because he couldn't handle that kind of dominance. Advantages:
-wouldn't be scared of Saban, Meyer, etc
-would put the conference and country on notice
-recruiting would get better and we'd stop being everyone's favorite 2nd choice if we showed out and the coach knew how recruiting worked
-astronomical technique and gamesmanship improvement at QB position
-pressure on better facilities if results on field shown
-most of all we would NEVER see offensive shitshow and commonplace technique absences for years like we have

Disadvantages:
-would they leave if they were successful
-would they be able to adjust to and deal with the college off-season and kids
-could they deal with The Creed, PTB, and extra off-field shite

Is there a guy out there that fits the mold and would come to Auburn?

=======================================

Now, I don't think that is ever going to happen at Auburn to be honest. It's just too good ole boy. So... what if we keep Gus? Keep Steele on D?

What if he realizes after this failure, a failure to great for even his stubbornness as he feels the seat actually start to boil, that he only needs to recruit the top juco fast scarmbling dual-threat QB every year? Take one every year. No high schoolers, frick them we cant develop shite no matter what type of qb they are. Recruit high rated Tackles but take big bodied scrubs in the interior if you can't get the good guys. frick WR recruiting, we'll just offer 2* freaks in AU camps. Only take blocking TEs and big fullbacks. Focus on OTs and RBs for the recruiting stars. Now, RUN THE 2013 OFFFENSE, BOTH HALVES OF GAMES and run up the score.

Don't touch defense, leave that to Steele.

OC doesn't matter, they're just a voice for Gus to hear confirm he's calling the game 'right.' Hire an up and coming yes man.

Guarantee if we do that, we'll almost always be ranked and compete for a title every 2-3 years. The question is, is there a high enough influence person that could subdue Gus' ego and convince him to scrap this current square peg round hole methodology shite and that the 2013 way is the only way for him? Does he have a mentor he actually listens to?

If we scrap Gus, we'll be forced to take yet another up and comer who needs time to learn about SEC head coaching, recruit his players and have his coaches establish the 2 year relationship with recruits, install his system and players getting acclimated, will be concerned with competing against and beating Saban, etc. It's a big gamble especially in this conference and it would take years to see results. And I don't think JJ is going anywhere, he will make the next hire.

Will Gus see the errors in his ways this season, the third straight of not meeting expectations with a third different QB and start to turn it around knowing his seat is hot af for real? Even JJ has to be feeling some heat and having a long walk with Gus. Is there someone he would listen to that would tell him, hey you need to go back to what you were good at and disregard what you think people want you to be or you're going to lose your dream and get fired?

And lastly, I typed this from my phone so frick any grammar police. Is this tl;dr go back to being drunk and stop posting?

Screw NFL guys. I just think the two games are too different for there to be a "carry-over" from the NFL to college. I wouldn't trust an unknown NFL assistant to come to AU and be successful. And no NFL HC is going to go to college.

We're going to have to go for a diamond in the rough type of guy who is currently a lower level college HC or an assistant at a major school.

I am sure there is a future hall of famer coach out there somewhere. The question is, who is he? And can we trust Jay Jacobs to find him?
