I've blacked out with regard to many of the details from the game Saturday, but I do remember Robert Leff in at left tackle in the overtimes.

Was Coleman out for the game? Was he pulled from the game? Any idea why he wasn't in in overtime?

Leff was at LT for the wildcat and goaline formations and Shon moved over to RT for an unbalanced line.

For reference

The Wildcat is only "The Wildcat" when one of the OL lines up at TE, not when a skill player is receiving the snap. The strength of the Wildcat is the unbalanced OL which if unrecognized gives the O 3OL blocking playside without pulling

Gus has been adding this concept to non wildcat formations more frequently now

Not sure if we bring in Leff because the HBacks aren't long enough to protect the backside or if having an OL come in isn't a clear sign that it is the Wildcat (i.e. TE/HB at LT must be unbalanced line)

Fwiw, PFF had shon Coleman as a midseason all-sec tackle (and Braden smith at guard as well)

Our OL has definitely improved. Golson still struggles but everyone else is solid.

Sean White had time to make reads because our OL was solid and gave him room to step up.

And Golson has gotten better.

They kept calling out Braden Smith for some great blocking. I agree overall this line is looking so much better.

Let's get the other side's front 7 improving and we could finish off in decent fashion.

I didn't mean to suggest Golson hasn't improved, just that he seems to be the liability along the front

ETA: People were not happy about JB Grimes to at start of the year. Given 3 "new" starters at OG/OC and the huge progress by Shon Coleman I think he's been great.

OL seems to be the one position group that has clearly improved as the season has gone along (Well QB too but that's just 1 guy)

JB Grimes got a bad rap early on around here.

Golson is improving, but didn't have the knowledge to direct traffic in earlier games. He is getting there and why the OL is starting to gel. Kozan is looking like his old self too.

It will be nice to have all 5 guys return on the OL next year.

We definitely take JB Grimes for granted. I'm not saying JB Grimes is some elite OL coach but our OL has improved every year from game 1 to season end, and individual players improved as well

People take for granted that GRob and Kozan to start 2013 were not obvious success stories. The 2013 OL Preview by AU SB Nation Site didn't project Kozan at starter and even suggested GRob may be inconsistent enough to be benched

Not sure if he will be around but I'm curious as to what he will do in 2 years with the last class we just brought in. Shapre, Harrell, Kim, Carr, Horton.

Where would he go? If Gus is here, Grimes will be here.

ETA: Gus isn't getting fired this year and won't be fired if he wins 7+ next year either

Braden Smith is the best guard I've seen at Auburn since Ben Grubbs. He is unbelievable. Could legitimately be a 3 and out player as a Guard.

Not on the Gus fire train, I think he has to go through this stuff as a head coach to figure out the best ways. When you look at the greats, they all had some down years.

Was talking more to his health. I'm not abreast or very knowledgeable on his current status, know he loves the kids and teaching them, and is a tough SOB, but remember reading he had that surgery in fall practice and is up there in years.
