5 best Auburn Teams of all time
5.1957(national champs)
4.1983(Should been National Champs)
3. 1914(retro National Champs)
2. 2010(Cam)
1. 2004
I would prob remove 2004 and slide all the other 4 up a spot and put 2013 in at #5. 2004 was a GREAT team, but I fear if we had gotten to play USCw we might have been beaten by 2 tds. Or remove 1914 and put 2013 in there.

The legend of the '04 uscw team will never wither based on their performance against OU, and OU alone.

They beat us by 23 the year before at JH. I think Leinharts first ever career pass was a TD. And our legacy of making 1st time starters or career back ups look like fricking Joe Montana began.

LSU beat Auburn by 14 in 2013... Auburn clownstomped their arse by 34 the following year... 48 point swing.
Alabama beat Auburn by 49 in 2012... Auburn then beat them by 6 the following year... that's a 55 point swing.
UGA beat Auburn by 19 in 2003... Auburn went tubershell against them in 2004 but won handily by 18... that's a 37 point swing.
quote:And? You mean the guy who won a Heisman threw a TD pass against us? Stop the presses.
I think Leinharts first ever career pass was a TD.

I will have to questions this choice
Not a soul alive knows shite about that team
No way to compare teams in that big of a span

Other than the 1914 team that I know nothing about they got it right. I think 1988 should be 4th or 5th. the mid to late 80's teams were good. I may be off a year.

I guess you forgot that USCheat struggled against Fresno, Cal, a terrible UCLA team, and VT (who we never trailed to in the Sugar Bowl) all in that same year. OU was a sham, and they got exposed.
That 2004 Auburn team was loaded with NFL talent that not many teams have matched.

Agree but no Auburn team would have beat our 2010 team. That team had destiny on its side
2004 was a better roster but 2010 would not lose

Remove 1914, move 1957 and 1983 up.
Add 2013.
Swap 2010 and 2004.
Done.

This. There was no doubt Byrum was gonna sink that FG in the NCG.

1. 2004
2. 2010
3. 1983
4. 1957
5. 1988
Don't know enough about 1914.
1983 did things no other team in ncaa history has ever done before or since due to one of the top 3 toughest schedules in ncaa history. No team has ever done so well against a schedule so difficult. Ever.
1988 lost by 1 point in the earthquake game after lsu had not crossed midfield all night, then on a terrible no call pass interference in the sugar bowl against the single hottest college team I have ever seen. Look at what fsu did to their last 5 opponents that year. And we beat them in that sugar bowl as far as I am concerned.
That's my list. 2013 would be next up as well.

I honestly believe the 2013 team was one of my favorites in my Auburn history. I just loved that team. Because of them losing in the Natty, I believe they will always be underrated.
That teams was bad arse and if not for one play, they would have been National Champions from a 3-8 shite show season.
Raise a glass to the 2013 team.

No doubt. They are my third favorite behind 1983 and 2010.
If they had won it all, they would by my all time favorite as well.
I hate to do this, but...
GD that fsu loss still hurts. I've never hurt so bad after a loss. Went out in Vegas and got so shitfaced after the game I lost 5k, got back to my room sometime the next day, missed my flight and was just one miserably unhappy person for a couple of days. Never hurt like that over a game ever. Not to mention I had 1500 more bet on AU to win straight up at +320 (over 3:1). Talking an 11k swing ON TOP of the worst loss ever.

Agreed, such a tough loss to swallow.

2013? We had a team that year? Don't have any memory of it.

If I had had 10k with me, probably would have lost that. I was just in such an aweful state of mind and just didn't care after the game. Took all I had in the safe in the room and just went berserk.
