I loved listening to Fyffe on the radio. I honestly don't ever listen to Rod bc I go to all home games and watch most if not all road games. However when Fyffe was around I didn't get to see all the games for one reason or another so I listened to him all the time. Him and Munson were masters of their craft.
It was a lot easier to be a radio legend when (at best) half of your games were televised. When Fyfe started, it was less than that. WAY less.
Not knocking Fyfe a bit when I'm saying that either. But the more people listen, the more people come to depend on you.

I get a lot more nervous and keyed up listening on Radio than on TV. Fyffe would keep you on the edge of your chair. Larry Munson was a lot like that as well. Munson could tell you exactly what was happening. Only guy who would quote half yard lines as well...
We're on the 25 and a half yard line... etc.
