Looking at the amount of talent we have on the Defensive line right now, I think it is time for the excuses to stop. We have to have one of the most talented DLine in the country. We could easily have 4, 5* guys playing at one time on the DLine.

Carl Lawson
Jeffery Holland
Montravious Adams
Byron Cowart
Marlon Davidson
Derrick Brown
Paul James
Raashad Kennion
Andrew Williams
Justin Thornton
Dontavious Russell
Devaroe Lawrence
Prince Tega Wanogho

Just look at that list and tell me it doesnt give you a warm a safe feeling...

I have been a big defender of Garner. This year is put up or shut up for him. It will be all his guys and he has plenty of talent. I expect the DL to be the strength of the defense and unless 6 guys get hurt or something this unit should produce

There are no excuses this year. Just remember that the list looked way way different last year

Healthy DL 2015

DE

5* Freshman - Byron Cowart
**D Lambert (coming off torn ACL wasn't 100%)
3* Raashad Kennion
4* Andrew Williams
3* Gimel President

DT

5* Montravious Adams
4* Dontavious Russell
3* Maurice Swain
4* Devaroe Lawrence

It really does look nasty. Its time they play up to the hype, agree no excuses.

I really want to see Prince and Thorton live up to the hype.

I know very little about Prince but it appears he is a major project. Major projects are great when you have the time. With all that talent around him, it makes me wonder if he will develop.

Its all up to his personal attitude. Some people excel when challenged in life and some falter due to lack of effort. We will see what we do. I am interested in him as well.

Two keys.

our DTs have to penetrate better and collape the pocket, which we could not do over the last few years.

Our DEs need to be able to have speed and power off the ends. Outside of Lawson, we had no one with that type of power and speed.

I think stat tiger showed our TFLs stats over the last 10 years and it was amazing how bad the 2015 DL was at getting losses behind the line of scrimmage. We could never get them in second or third and longs.

I think it will be interesting to see if they move Cowart inside as he showed NO quickness off the end. I hope it was just a lack of understanding his role.

I also want to see if Prince has gotten stronger and could provide that speed rush at DE, or if one of the true FR can be in the rotation.

He was fat last year. That is why he was slower. He should be better this year as he has been allowed to lose some of the weight.

Maybe this year our entire passrush will not be out with an injury.

What's going to be your next failed prediction? I believe you've got these under your belt: Tre Mason isn't very good/Shon Coleman isn't very good/Garner can't recruit HS DTs and will strike out and take 3* JUCO DTs.

Well let's be fair, Shon was frustratingly bad unless he was holding in 2014.

Alter? I don't know what you're talking about! Regardless, it feels good to be right, you should try it sometime.

It's the day after signing day. My new rule is they become two stars until they prove otherwise

I think we are all a little sensitive to that but my post is more about the coaches developing these guys. You will always have a few high ranked kids that dont perform and there really is not a lot the coaches can do. But if we cant field a strong DLine and a strong second string out of that list, we b fricked

So is there a reason you listed a LB in that group? At first I was shocked no one else mentioned this, so I'm wondering if maybe I missed something...

Unless I missed something, take his name out and I agree with you 100%.

I thought about that but didnt they line him up as a end rusher most of the time last year?
