Offensive Recruits "Busts" under Malzahn

Some of y'all follow recruiting a lot more than me, so I'd appreciate any input on a question I have:
Is it just me or do Gus' offensive recruits "bust" much more than at other SEC schools?
I note:
Kiehl Frazier - 5 star
JJ - 4 star
Sean White - 4 star
Woody Barrett - 4 star
Michael Dyer - 5 star
Trovon Reed - 5 star
Antonio Goodwin - 4 star
Shaun Kitchens - 4 star
Jovon Robinson - 5 star
Roc Thomas - 5 star
Duke Williams - 5 star
And jury still out on Nate Craig-Myers and Kyle Davis.
Do all programs miss so much on recruits and/or have players with trouble with law/violating team rules?
It seems like our defensive recruits have panned out much better (Lawson, Adams, tre Williams, Carlton Davis, D Brown, Davidson, etc).

And 6 non-QB recruits and 10 total turning into busts would be a damn low number for 7 years. I'm pretty sure he's had more though.

May as well add NCM and KD to the list.
Malzahns offense does not utilize it's talent unless you're the feature back. We dink and dunk until third down then put our qb in ugly situations.

Dyer, Robinson, Duke and Grant are not busts.
The first three guys were involved in disciplinary issues. Dyer under Chizik and Duke under CGM. Robinson caught a really bad break.
Disciplinary issues doesn't equal bust, if you're talking about talent.
Grant plays on Sundays.

Yes they do. In Dyer's case, we got enough production out of him before his issues that he's not a bust.

Agreed.
I'd still say Duke wasn't a bust too. He was super productive in 2014 pre injury + everyone knew what they were getting with him.

Yep. Its always annoying when someone lists Kiehl as a 5 star. That was on Scout only.

I think they need to do a 6 star system or bump 3 stars down to 2 stars and some 4 stars down to 3.
There's a pretty big difference between high 4 stars and low 4 stars as far as expectations go

Yall do realize guys at Tennessee, Oklahoma, Bama ect eclipse these numbers in a single season? Sometimes even multiple guys on the same team. Gus's offense is so bad it's tainted our perception of whats acceptable. Fred freaking Ross at Moo State had like 1000 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Kyle Davis and NCM should both have those type numbers every year but we're happy just to see them get a target each game

Every school has bust, look at Alabama's 5 star QB bust. At least three in the last year or two. Many of the names you mentioned were not true bust. Dyer was the MVP of our National Championship game.
