And not an out of state one.
One that laughed, ridiculed, and pointed years ago when Auburn was, yet again, being a trend setter.
Major, non-out-of-state university that laughed and pointed? Follower and copier.
They always have been. Hell, they even stole one of our fight songs.

Let me say what everyone is thinking....UGA is an unoriginal, overrated university that hasn't really been relevant in the sec for 30 years. Their fans are whiny, have settled for mediocrity yet somehow feel superior to everyone. In short, Georgia can suck my orange and blue nuts.

I get that this is referring to UGA but can someone explain the backstory to this? Did they make fun of Auburn for having some kind of billboard?

That was followed a year or two later with a billboard campaign that featured the BCS crystal football.
UGA fans made all sorts of fun about Auburn advertising in metro Atlanta.
Funny thing is, as I drive 85 in the mornings and afternoons I see billboards promoting Tech football, as well as one promoting Clemson season tickets and how close the CU campus is.
