But for now, here are the top 10 quarterbacks to ever don the navy and orange.

10. Lloyd Nix
9. Patrick Nix
8. Jimmy Sidle
7. Nick Marshall
6. Stan White
5. Reggie Slack
4. Dameyune Craig
3. Jason Campbell
2. Pat Sullivan
1. Cam Newton

Yes, this young kid "Nathan Deal" (I assume he's a young kid cuz he dumb) places The Wizard 7th on the list of all-time Auburn QBs.

On Auburn's all-time QB list, Nick Marshall is *easily* 4th, there's a very good argument he's 3rd, and is only excluded from the argument that he's 2nd because he doesn't have a Heisman on his mantle.

You have to consider the era the guy played in. Nick wouldn't be able to do what he did in Sullivan or White's time.

Campbell is overrated. He was mediocre at best until 2004.

If he ran the option he would have been dominant. The option has been around forever

Nick is 3rd or 4th for me. I could see the argument for him or Campbell at 3.

NM should be top 4. I'm a huge NM fan and I will stand up for him on any subject though so I'm biased.

People love to disrespect his leadership abilities and I often wonder why. Yea he smoked weed. He was still a great teammate. Marshall was the real "matty-ice" and he made his teammates better. Have to wonder if his absence of leadership had anything to do with Duke becoming more of a problem because Marshall did have a calming presence.

He was also athletic as frick and made things look much easier than it actually was. I'm afraid people saw 2013, saw our beautiful offense and attributed it to the "system." Tre had to deal with the "system RB" stereotypes at the combine as well which was meant to be a slight toward his play.

I was referring to the numbers he put up. Much more high octane offensive environment now.

Craig
Marshall

Craig's two years as a starter (1996-97): 710 pass attempts, 34 TD passes, 23 interceptions, 7.8 yards/attempt, 219 rushes, 207 yards, 12 rushing TDs

Marshall's two years as a starter (2013-14): 532 pass attempts, 34 TD passes, 13 interceptions, 8.5 yards/attempt, 325 rushes, 1866 yards, 23 rushing TDs

Craig #3? Nah, not even close.

i wouldn't bother anymore with this thread
dont expect that to get through to his head
you know it's useless
logic's bound to be fruitless
when you could throw around numbers instead

I didn't appreciate NM while he was here. Outside of Cam, I can't think of another AU QB I would take over NM, especially in a big game.

OK then, how's this:

One actually wears an SEC Championship ring and also played in a national championship game, whereas the other does/did not.

Better?

If you're not going to use statistics and actual accomplishments, then on what basis would you make your judgement?

Fashion?

Then, yeah, in that case DC >>> NM.

There pretty much is no metric that you can judge D.C. Better than Marshall

Hell just look how we had Pettway run wild and still blundered our way to 8-5 despite a down SEC and our best defense in years

Marshall more than anyone made our offense click and continually be top 10

10. Lloyd Nix
9. Patrick Nix
8. Jimmy Sidle
7. Nick Marshall (I said 6th, and then dropping to 7th after Stidham). I can see him as high as 5th.
6. Stan White
5. Reggie Slack
4. Dameyune Craig (4 year Pro QB)- He was unreal on the field.
3. Jason Campbell (Long Pro Career)
2. Pat Sullivan (Heisman)
1. Cam Newton (Heisman)

Brandon Cox deserves to be mentioned in this thread. Dude beat Alabama like a drum, and cleaned up with the coeds.
