CBS Sports analyst Rick Neuheisel thinks Art Briles could end up at Auburn next season. "I have a prediction: Art Briles will be at Auburn next year. Whether as the head coach or offensive coordinator, Briles to Auburn with Jarrett Stidham" SoundCloud

Not sure Petrino would bring in Briles as OC

That would be a signal to recruits that we went FULL BAMA and the ATM was open and the process was ready.

And that would signal an end of my support for AU football. Some things are more important than winning

I remember Kirk Herbstreit saying Auburn would get Charlie Strong after Chiz.

I don't believe it.

Would be a lot better route than having to pay the buyout owed to Gus and staff. Let Gus focus on being a head coach and reliquish control of the offense.

Not so sure I want this
I do think we would be making a deal with the devil. Honestly I would like more info on just what all he knew and didn't know while at Baylor in regards to the victims.

If they wouldn't hire Bobby Petrino in 2013, why would they hire Art Briles now?

Makes no sense.

Dont be so dramatic. You will support Auburn football no matter what they hell they do or who the hell they hire.

Plus, Briles apologized for his mistakes.

Everyone deserves a second chance....or at least that is what the Bible teaches us. Maybe you're not a Christian, i don't know. But i think Briles needs Auburn as much as Auburn needs him.

Actually no I won't. It's this win at all costs attitude that allows the shite that happened at Penn State & Baylor keep happening. Briles is a piece of shite and I don't want him at Auburn. I'm not asking for the most pure of heart person but maybe skip the guy that was part of one of the biggest sexual assault scandals in college football

I'm pretty anti Briles in general, but the more info thta comes out the less he appears at fault.

That said, as HC of the program, you will always shoulder responsibility

I get you like winning hell I do to but don't be so dense. The whole reason he is even available is because of all the shite that went down at Baylor

Here's the Pepper Hamilton report if you never read it the first time

quote:

Football staff conducted their own untrained internal inquiries, outside of policy, which improperly discredited complainants and denied them the right to a fair, impartial and informed investigation, interim measures or processes promised under University policy,

I am not saying that Briles is the sole reason for all that went down there. There was failure everywhere but as the head coach of a football team to have the number of sexual assaults & violent crimes associated with that program speaks to his lack of leadership and the environment he helped foster. There's also a very good chance he knew of the reasons why Sam Ukwuachu was dismissed from Boise State but let him on anyway. Every school & team deals with lots of issues off the field, hell we could have our own issue with Landon Rice. But the trend there at Baylor was extremely troubling & it's foolish to think that the head coach of this program who gets all the credit for building it up had no idea what was happening

Nice recap of Baylor scandal
reddit thread that does good job summarizing eveything

This.

As far as Petrino is concerned, there was no question whether he was guilty or innocent. Plus, there's a huge difference in naming someone a coordinator versus head coach, which is essentially the face of your program.

If Gus is willing to hire him, he'll bear the burden and it's his responsibility at the end of the day.

Again I said "part of". I don't think he was sole reason for all that happened but no doubt he played a large role being the head coach.

Exactly. It's amazing how everyone wants to give him credit for what he did to build up the Baylor program but then on the other hand downplay the recent fall
