Khari dad, who is battling cancer, now may never see his son play again. LINK

Why the hell would they eliminate hardship waivers? That's gotta be one of the few things the NCAA was doing right.

At least they waited until after Jay Prosch's career was over

With all the bullshite going on in the world, the NCAA chooses to frick with kids who are in dyer personal need?

If I were Khari Harding, I'd lawyer up and sue the bastards. And Bowl, like you, Jay Prosch was the first one I thought of when I read this. His mom passed, but at least he got to be near her.

Not like it was being abused. They had no problem denying kids

They are just eliminating a job duty at the expense of a kids needs. Probably a budget cut which is bullshite.

I bet they have a great excuse about how it hurts the NCAA . I don't think I ever even seen anyone complain about this or anyone who got it.

It is a pretty fricking easy job. They should have downgraded to a lower payscale or let some grad assistant make the decision

It'd be bullshite because they're making tons of money right now.

As noted early in the thread Prosh got it due to his sick mother who I believe passed away eventually. But Jay still got to be close to her uin her later days.

It's just another ploy to lock players into the schools they sign with at all cost. So a big time player can't leave and hurt the teams they each secretly pull for.

I meant I haven't seen anyone who got it where everyone was complaining.

It's not one of those rules people are always complaining about or saying needs to be changed.

If anything, they often times were too harsh and people complained due to erring on the side of rejection

It sucks, but some folks would abuse it. They should have raised the threshold, but that would be too much work for the NCAA, so they just stopped the process.

Given that the power 5 conferences can make some rules now on their own, I wonder if the SEC could rule on this itself within conference?

Wouldnt help Khari and Tulsa, but might help.

That's the thing, the NCAA was very good at telling people no and being jerks. Even to kids that had a legit excuse

They would get a ton of these waivers but few actually got approved

Sounds like Tulsa is giving the NCAA the finger and allowing Harding to play. He is already enrolled so they are saying he alreadyalready is eligible based on being at Tulsa pre rule change
