B. Allen gets 5 yards on QB sneak cause of DL getting pushed like ragdolls.

No adjustment to speed sweep. No containment or LBs even in the right place. We have no outside run defense at all. Not sure who to blame for this? DEs or LBs?

Killed by middle RB screens but we have never run one

Hurry up offense = HB dive 100% of the time. D's have figured that out.

We run bubble screens with #s against us. Opponents run WR screens and always have numbers on us.

Announcers even said we have to mix it up and quit running it every first down.

We have no TE

D-line never get their hands up like u see Bama does.

This was a problem even in the Louisville game before out D totally crapped the bed. We don't even have anyone even close to being in position to make a play like 80% of the time.

It's amazing how often I can look at our defensive alignment and identify a receiver, who if they throw him the ball, will get at least 7-8 yards before it's even possible for someone to tackle him if they read the play perfectly.

They are too busy using their hands to push themselves up off the ground.

RB screen is a good point - where they let everyone by. FSU killed us with Warrick Dunn years ago with that play like 6 times in a game.

I'm like 99.99999% sure we never played Warrick Dunn.

ETA: Actually make that 100%, what else happened in that dream?

This is the #1 issue of the season. I yell at Frost quite a bit, but the truth is that it's hard for a linebacker to do his job when linemen are getting free blocks down field and running backs are hitting holes at full sprint.

DEs mostly. Some of this is also just tough to defend against. Outside of Alabama, most teams get nailed by good offensive play calls. But the biggest issue here is that our defensive line is not doing their job.

Screens work great when your running game is pushing the line of scrimmage. Defensive line will try to get into the backfield and that's when you dump the screen over their head.

Gus doesn't seem to like those kinds of screens. I think it's because they are slow developing plays, and most of Gus's plays are (supposed to be) executed quickly.

Gus has admitted this is what he wants to do ever since he was coaching high school ball. It's his philosophical belief that after you have a positive play, the defensive line will be catching their breath. That's when you pound them for a free 4-5 yards.

Not sure what you mean here. If you mean that when we run bubble screens, they have guys to defend it immediately whereas when we defend against bubble screens, our guys our too far away, that's partially defensive scheme and partially talent. Our players are slow to react.

Gus likes H-Backs. Not TEs so much.

The d-line has a lot more problems than getting their hands up.

Can't get on board here. I mean one of his favorite plays is the fake up the middle, QB totally turn his back to the D and half arse fake a end around, then turn and try to throw down field. The slowest developing play in the history of football and results in a sack probably 75% of the time. Our offense looked better today probably in large part because we abandoned that play.

If by favorite play you mean he calls it once, maybe twice a game, sure. But the majority of his plays happen quickly.

The O scored 46 points. It is the D that makes me want to quit college football. We basically said frick playing D after 07-08. I am not seeing anything that makes me think we are making progress on that side of the ball.

Made our bed, slept in it, and slapped many an a** on the way.

We were 4 TD's from playing for the playoff last year, and today on offense......can't breakdown like that in 1st qtr. Cost us the game.

Sounds like Chizik is meddling with the offense again.

It's kind of like Gus is having a nightmare and we're all sharing in it. It's like one of those dreams where you're running from the monster but you just, can't, seem, to, move, your, feet, and... run...

Gus just, can't, seem, to, mix, up, plays, and, trust, Sean, and, go, for, two, when, he, could, win.

Yeah, we scored 46 with 4 extra periods. They scored 31 in regulation.

And I miss defense. Even in '08 the defense was solid. I don't ever want to see an offense that anemic again, but the defense kept that season from going 2012 bad.

IF JJ, Tray, Lawson, etc, had turned out as people thought, this would have been a very good year.

Now it's a rebuilding year and prepping for 2016, by: a) develop White, b) play everybody, c) learn to win, d) ruin other peoples season. OPP.

I have a feeling despite the loss today, this team wins 3 more games, possibly, 4. Wins the bowl game. A 7-8 win season plus a bowl win is a far cry from 15-0, but, I'd take it right now.

I'm gonna go ahead and call it now. RG will be let go at the end of the season. We could have 7 All American defensive backs but the defense would still be terrible thanks to abismal d line play. Forget schemes, those guys are not anywhere near fundamentally sound. Getting your hands up is taught at the basic levels of the game. They have virtually no pass rush moves, know nothing of leverage and have no mean streak.

He wont be fired just promoted to Wayne Hall retirement plan. Muschamp will be able to hire someone he knows can teach and recruit the type of player he wants.

That is the most predictable O I've ever seen.

I swear I went a full two or three series successfully calling every single play that we ran, from "Oh, Melvin Ray's in? We're gonna use him as a run blocker so Ric is about to get pulled into motion and take it on a sweep" to "1st down? Barber takes it up the middle/around right end"

Ya, wtf is going on with this. We can't get pressure so why not at least get better at trying to put hands up and make the QB see through obstacles. I assume our inept DL couldn't actually bat one down
