Is this is what it was like in the 70's? When the Bhar was on his run? I was born in 79 so luckily my early AU memories are Dyes 80's run over the turds. I hope I live long enough to see them suck again.

The 70s were worse. Not only was Bama better, but Auburn was terrible. No bowls terrible.

I lived through those years

This is worse. Saban is better than Bear.

Also, we beat UGA and Florida and UT fairly regularly and GT was a big rival.

I don't know how you can say that when during Sabans run, auburn has won a natty, appeared in another, and won the SEC twice

Plus we destroyed Bamas dreams a couple years

Agreed. Bama would roll through the regular season in the 70's but they were a threat to lose a bowl game to ND, Nebraska, etc. They are damn near unbeatable now.

Ok,

17-16 was sort of like kick 6.

You are right about the NC.

Still though considering everything, I would say that Saban is better than Bear. He is healthier as well. This could get really bad before it gets better.

You know, if South Carolina can win the national championship next year, it'll put UGA on an island. everyone wins one of them national championship trophies within a country mile from you... ain't any boooiled peanuts that can make up for that.

That said, Clemson nation about the time Auburn rolls in next year...

I remember the feeling in 2011. I don't give a fuuuck... we won.... wait, i do care, all hell. This is awful.

The 70's were tough, not only was Bama good, AU sucked hard. Wearing an Auburn shirt as a child was an act of courage..lol

I was probably too young to understand what was going on until the very late 70's.

Not all of us can remember those days like Alien2010

Had to go to Birmingham to sales meetings in the 70s, and legion field for the "neutral" site iron bowl.

8 reps: Worshiped the bear.

1 rep : Only got a job
because he had an uncle in the
home office and only wanted to talk nfl and nba.

1 rep: Auburn fan.

It was misery in those days. Barfield lost all five iron bowls as head coach.

On the field, the 70s were much worse than this and most of the 60's weren't any better.

The advent of ESPN, etc. and the interwebs is what makes it seem worse now.
