MSU @ Auburn: Prediction Thread

Let's talk some football and get off the basketball stuff for a bit. This is a tough game and MSU seems to love being the underdog. Stidham took a step forward last week, but MSU looks to have a top 5 defense in the SEC. Herbstreit has us winning and going into the Iron Bowl at 10-1... I'm not so sure, just yet.
- Will Pettway play?
- Will KJ be able to run on State?
- Will Stidham continue to improve?

A most welcome thread.

- Will Pettway play? - I think so.
- Will KJ be able to run on State? - Yes, but only if some other RBs, KP included, tote the rock as well.
- Will Stidham continue to improve? - I think he will even though I am not expecting the same type of completion % numbers this week.
- Score predictions? - I think its close for the first half with us slowly pulling away in the second thanks to another strong defensive performance - 34-17 Auburn.

Haven't really gotten a chance to watch MSU/UGA but I did see MSU/LSU. It's a vintage Grantham defense meaning they are attacking but very susceptible to big plays. LSU missed a bunch of opportunities in that game. Offensively Fitzgerald can play but he doesn't have a ton of guys around him. I think our defense can shut them down the question will be can offense move the ball consistently and not turn it over.
Apparently Kam Martin got hurt against Mizzou so our top 3 backs are banged up. That's really concerning so we might have to lean on Stidham's arm which means WRs are gonna have to step up. If KJ and Pettway are healthy enough to be effective I think AU rolls. If not, AU still wins but in a battle. Gonna say something like 24-10

When I coach my next game it will be my first, but I would think we would have to try and run on the perimeter. MSU is strong in the interior D line. We have not really tried to perimeter much and we have used the jet sweep sparingly compared to other years.
Would love to see Sal more involved in this game.
Prediction: 3-2.

i have had/still have plantar fasciitis and that shite is a bitch. Never really goes away. If you rest it for months, it will get better, but if I play a sport, it comes back.
So, i'm sure he is hurting

This is one of those games where I don't know how I feel.
My concern isn't our defense. Fitzgerald is good, but a lot of the hype is unwarranted. Two of LSU's key defensive starters were ejected from that game.
I am more worried about a Todd Grantham-coached defense. I hope our O line looks more like it did against Mizzou and less like it did against Clemson.
I want to believe we have momentum from the MIzzou game and MSU will be hungover from the UGA game.

I'm not going to make a score prediction, but wasn't it fun last week to not be on the edge of your seat the entire game? I would love to see a similar type game this week, even though I know Moo State is a lot tougher than Mizzou. After watching them play Notre Lame, I'm still not onboard with thUGA being much better than they were last year. And they smoke Moo State.

I think our O stalls but finds opportunities from a couple of needed big plays. MSU should be looking for redemption from last week and last year's matchup against us. I kinda see a 2013 MSU type of game. Not good for my BP, but huge for the team's confidence. Good guys win 23-17.

Gus is going to do some stupid shite with Malik Willis and put him in on a big 4th down to run the ball straight up the middle and he gets stuffed. Miss state gets ball back and scores a TD to win 28-24.
OR
I also see us winning 38-14...
