Lots of AU DL gifs vs LSU

So while rewatching game tonight I made some gifs of some of my favorite DL plays because this was one of my favorite games I have seen our DL play. If you haven't watched replay & you want to there is version up on youtube. That video is the source of all these gifs. Enjoy & may god have mercy on your browser....
Dontavius Russell eats up the screen play
Montravius Adams eats LF. FYI notice we are showing a 3-4 look against a heavy look. We did that multiple times throughout the game with great success. This play is just ridiculous. He shoves back a guy that some have #2 on the board for the C position in the NFL then is able to by himself grab LF & drag him down
First time around did not notice Devaroe's sick swim move. Pocic seemed to struggle with the nose. Andrew cleans up nicely & is #2 on the team in sacks
Note I switched how I was making gifs halfway through this because other service died due to the 2 hour plus video I was using. The new service made much larger gifs....
Using our 3rd & long pass rushing package where Lawson/Holland are lined up inside & Davidson/Adams on outside. Lawson & Davidson run a twist with minimum effectiveness but good coverage gives Holland enough time to force Etling to tuck it & try to escape which Lawson promptly shuts down
LSU runs an interesting blocking scheme here where guard turns DT loose & the TE tries to cut block him. Russell absorbs the block then makes the play. When our DTs got their hands on LF he did not escape
I like this play purely because it shows how darn quick Adams can be off the ball. One rip move & he is by the guard and pressuring the QB. Fun to watch him play when he is on. Feels like a bit of a hold on that play as well....
Pocic is going to be on lots of Adams highlight films come NFL draft time. Again he whoops LSU's All-SEC center & again he handles LF all by himself
Very next play Davidson & Adams team up for the sack to force the FG. I think this one is helped but good coverage
Final one I have is Lawson doing Lawson things. We needed a big play & he got it done. Incredible jump on the snap & just flat out beats LSU's LT & LF to their spots & finishes the play. Big thing in this game is Lawson finished when he got to the QB something he has struggled with some in the past few games but he seems to be ironing that out
Bonus Gif

Good work. It's good to see Monty blowing up plays and Carl starting to show what he can do. Also, great KJ gif. Will be a good one to use on tRant in the future.

Awesome work! Is there any way to get the Tre Williams hit on Etling and Fournette dragging his leg on the ground after getting his ankle turned at the end of the game?
Would love those two to mess with the LSU fans

Lawson's burst off the line in that last play is something to behold.

His bend off the edge made it impossible for the OL to even lay a hand on him too

quote:Actually, it would be interesting to see a gif of that hit side-by-side with a gif of the Arden Key roughing the passer play on SW, for comparative purposes.

Looks like LF7 should have bounced it outside to top of the play. DonRuss made a pretty dominant play off a cutblock when he was going down
(Looks like DonRus)

I'm sad we never got to beat Les Miles at LSU.

I'm hoping they name Coach Orgeron as HC and we beat Coach O in Baton Rouge

We can all dream a little.

The blocking scheme definitely looks like this run was supposed to go to the boundary. Across the board they had leverage to the boundary on all of our guys but LF for some reason cut back towards the field.

It was supposed to be run up either the A/B gaps on the left side
After looking at it, you can piece together their broken play. LSU is running a "Wham" play, which is a twist on the trap. A too aggressive DT opens themselves up to being trapped in the backfield by the TE/FB while the runner gets an extra OL blocking at the second level
This is something Jim Harbaugh uses to great effect taking guys like Ndamukong Suh completely out of two big 50+ yard runs
You can see TE Delanie Walker taking an unsuspecting Suh out of the play
Here is the diagram from some FB blog

The hero of that play is MontyAdams. He doesn't let his defender seal him off and begins to clog up the designed play hole forcing LF7 to alter course.
Looks like LF7 identified that the movement of MonAdams opened another hole on the right side he could cutback to. DonRus made a great play with Darrell Williams being in position to plug the gap if necessary
