No Les, no Gucci?

quote:

When Craig was introduced in Baton Rouge, he said it was "definitely not a lateral move" to work for Les Miles.

quote:

That'll be different," Craig said. "After coming off three seasons as a coach (at Auburn), I can't answer (how it'll feel to enter the stadium as a visitor) until I get there. That's one thing I can't prepare myself for. But these guys are a really, really close-knit group. These guys have my back and they understand my situation and where I came from."

Looks like the big winner in the LSU AU coach swap was Steele. He will have a job next year. DC likely not

Les's problem is he's got too many ex AU offensive coaches on his staff... Grimes, Craig, ensminger. No wonder they suck.

DC will have a job somewhere. May not be lsu but he's a top 20 recruiter. He will be somewhere.

Good. I thought he showed very little class on his way out the door at Auburn.

I feel the same way about Muschamp. I lost a lot of respect for both of them.

There was nothing wrong with the way DC left... he did it after NSD which saved our WR class. His press conference was not that bad... not sure what you would expect him to say.

So, does DC become interim OC now?

I bet Ensminger will be named OC until the end of the year.

Told you so. DC is no where near being ready to be an OC in the SEC.

I thought both he and Muschamp said some negative things about Auburn on the way out that were unnecessary. I was told he wasn't kind about Auburn on the recruiting trail also.

Was just about to start a thread on this beautiful disaster. Is Hugh still driving that 18 wheeler?

Muschamp sealed and delivered some top-notch recruits for AU before he left. We all knew he would not be at AU long. He did not move laterally like DC, he took a fricking head coaching position at an SEC school. Trob followed due to comfort and advancement. I don't understand how you can believe WM left in a non-classy manner. You would take a job where you double your current pay, would you not?

But yes, DC leaving like he did for LSU amounted to nothing more than a temper tantrum because he couldn't get his way. He does not seem to be very mature, but I got that feeling the way he coddled guys that got in trouble. Here's a news flash DC, do your job well, and you will advance. He has yet to roll out WRs worth a shite.

It has nothing to do with leaving. Moving on in coaching happens. It's how you do it. Do you not remember some of the things Muschamp said about Auburn after he left?

No, please share. I remember some assistants saying things, but not Muschamp.

Here you go:

quote:

On Nov. 22, Muschamp was adamant he and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, had not been contacted about any other jobs. Less than two weeks later Muschamp said he had multiple options to be a head coach.

"I fully expected at that time, given the information I had, that I was going to be and I fully expecting to be," Muschamp told AL.com. "Did you see the house I bought in auburn? I fully expected that. Then this situation arises. Anybody that doesn't understand that, I have no apologies for making the decision what was best for me and my family."

Muschamp called Malzahn "a first class individual, a great person and an outstanding football coach" and feels "there's a lot of success to be had" for the Auburn defense.

"It's a great situation there and Gus does a fantastic job," Muschamp said. "I'm really hurt we couldn't continue to move forward, but certainly excited about the opportunity here."
