He is still on a NFL practice squad despite being a backup. He looked awesome in the Iron Bowl and should have been a starter for us this year with Avery Young at OG. I blame the coaches

Ben Bradley - good

Finally someone gives some love to Bradley. He was never "supposed" to be an elite DT for us with Wright/Blackson. That said, Ben Bradley was great in run situations and his awkward flailing arms when chasing the QB was always fun to watch. Looked like old school NFL Blitz

for comparison Bama is hitting on 22/34 for 2012-2013 for a 65% average.

8/24 for Auburn - 33%
22/34 for Alabama - 64%

they are playing with 14 more experienced older 4 and 5 stars than us.

The 2014 class seems to show a good bit of improvement from this. Granted, I haven't broken it down. I think this will improve in the next couple of years, too. We have the right staff to fix it.

I think they sell the idea of competition to earn a spot in playing rotation better than anyone. They are stockpiled with talent and guys go there knowing this and knowing playing time won't just be handed to them. It definitely works for the most part because you see the results. On the other hand we have been selling early playing time for a while instead of focusing on selling the idea of competing and getting better. I do think with Muschamp here now we can change that philosophy.

Maybe not, but he's equally not on the field like a Jonathan Rose isn't.

2012 was Chiz/Trooper last year of recruiting. It sucked.
2013 was Gus' first, but was really Chiz class. We picked up a few, but Trooper de-recruited many of them. Biggest bust is JJ and that is all on Gus.

It is why the "young excuse" works somewhat for me.

CPA's point is that our ability to turn 4*+ players into viable players is awful.

Doesn't matter if it injury, screw ups etc, our players have a hard time making a difference on the field

The hell they don't. An injury bust has the same impact as a regular bust.

Go ahead and make that 11 of 16 for Bama 2013

Jonathan Allen Chris Black and Ryan Anderson are all good and would be starting if they didn't have 5*s on the field in front of them

Two catches in conference games, 25 total catches, so far in his career (JR). Give me a break. If that's the requirements for being "good" then Mitchell sure as shite shouldn't be labeled a bust.

Its hard to label someone no good because their second team on a stacked roster. That would be like saying Tre Williams is no good. Small sample size because they don't get the action.

I get your point tho

Either way we're not getting it done in player development.

Yeah bro, totally.

They were so stacked with all that WR talent that they had to bring in a transfer from Oregon State...

Those are some bad numbers.

But we have been to the NC 2 times in that time frame.

It feels like we sold our souls for the 2 national championship games since 2010. Hopefully this season pays our debt.

It depends. If you're just looking back on the class and not making inferences then yes you can call him a bust.

But if you're looking at our coaches ability to recruit and develop those players then you can't really label Lawson a bust. There's not much you can do about injuries so you can't put the blame on the coaches for that one. He's clearly very good. He also injury prone but I don't see how you can expect the coaches to predict that.
