D.J. Gillins, a four-star dual-threat quarterback from Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss., is scheduled to be in Auburn this weekend.

Gillins signed with Wisconsin in 2014 out of Jacksonville, Fla. He was ranked the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback in the '14 class. He is currently committed to SMU.
Few notes:

a) injured in first game
b) didn't start pre-injury (according to Bunker)
c) has played one college game total
d) appears to be bad news on the Jarrett Stidham front

Said injury was a torn ACL.

Also played a little wide receiver for Wisconsin before transferring out.

Maybe inviting him to see JJ play QB is our way of showing him we don't really want him to sign with us?

One of the 'insider' guys on AUF says that Stidham visited A&M again this past week and that it looks like he's a lock to go there now. This news now seems to be confirming that report.

I can't blame him.

I wouldn't come to Auburn if I were a quarterback.

But you would go to A&M? They have done a fantastic job with all that QB talent since J football. I mean our QB's are a train wreck but we haven't had 3 5 stars flame out in 2 years

Not sure we'll see Woody next season. It's going to take the coaches some time to unteach him all of his solid fundamentals before he sees the field.

I would absolutely go there over Auburn. They have zero competition for Stidham next year, and unlike us, they feature a pass-heavy offense similar to the one that he just came out of.

With Herman's stock dropping, we snag him for 2018?

There is almost 10 million people between Birmingham and Atlanta. Hard to believe there is not one potential QB there.

They can probably throw a forward pass, though. That's not what Gus and Rhett are looking for in a quarterback, obviously.

Birmingham alone has some programs that run spread O's on a high level. Any of those would have been a better option than JF3

Why the hell didnt we recruit the kid from Clay Chalkville that starts at Cincinnati? He was a true freshman last year.
