Agree. I actually find it insulting. Two long time, historically elite (I know Auburn is not "elite" right now) SEC programs play a hard fought game that could have gone either way, and they pitch a temper tantrum and sack their head coach the next day.
It seems unlikely that they can bring in anyone to salvage the season. Maybe they've got their eye on Briles and felt like they wanted to lock him down, but it's not like he or anyone else was not going to pick up the phone when LSU calls in November/December.
Miles certainly had his issues, but his body of work at LSU is impressive. Why would you want to insult someone like that firing them mid-season?

That is so stupid. We would have paid an extra $2mil and for no reason.
Every coach you'd hire already has a job so you are a sitting duck with an interim HC

I view it with a tad of disrespect too. Lost to bad AU team. I know this had been building since prob he lost to bama in the MNC, but we are no Vandy.
Props to them for doing it now. Possible jobs open at the end of the season. ND, TX, AU
