I pray it is someone from the outside that knows how to implement a passing game. My fear is Herb Hand.

Gus has a chance to change his trajectory. But I'm pretty sure you are correct. He will hire from within and we will continue our downward spiral into absolute mediocrity.

It really sounds more like a Auburn decision than a Lashlee decision.. I would hope that Auburns plan would not be to fire Rhett and hire Herb Hand

I would hope not either, but I'm prepared to be underwhelmed at the very least and very likely disappointed.

Gus looked completely over his head at times this past season. I understand what you're saying, but do we really want Gus to have Saban like control over the football program?

Nobody has saban like control of any athletic program in the nation.

You get my point. If Gus can't figure out that we have a QB/OC coaching problem then we're screwed. If Gus can't figure out how to have a competent offense because he's really running the offense, then we're screwed. Either way, a change was needed. Gus has to adapt.

Considering he's Auburn, I assume his jibbing from the FT line is awful.

He's the only candidate that I could see not coming here to be a yes man.

Agree with you there.

I'm not putting it all on Lashlee either. Gus just needs to bring in somebody who sees things in a different way than him.

People would be mad about his Baylor dismissal thing though.

The first three candidates are intriguing. I think Lindsey would be my first choice.

What is the love for Chip Lindsey? He hasn't become a proven commodity yet. His resume is not near as impressive than the rest of the candidates, and, if anything, he would be nothing more than another yes man that won't force Gus's offense to evolve.

Expect a Steele type hire. He done good but at the time he was an underwhelming hire. Some former sec OC. Maybe someone that got fired this year or last.

Yeah but at least Steele was an established coach.

Will this board crash if he hires Craig? It would be a said day for Auburn football if he did.
