How does one go 2 years without speaking to their boss?

That's what I'm wondering.....

Matthews implied that "they" took away his control about 2 years ago and being the control freak that Gus is, he has been bitter ever since.

What control? How does this make any sense? Who’s calling plays and running the team?

Hasn't this been a pretty common theme between our coaches and JJ? One would say the constant would be the problem.

Or is it becoming a tired excuse whenever our coaches fail to live up to expectations?

Good ole boys are cozy. Piss away our money, draw high-paying salaries with no one watching over you.

I really don't think so. There is SOMETHING behind the scenes that SEEMS to suck the energy out of some good coaches we have had. They go from really good to TANKING since Pat Dye was head coach.

Tubs bucked the good ole boys, that's why they tried to jet gate him.

Poor ol' innocent "Pine Box" Tommy... jet-gated by the good ole boys who he conspired with to screw over Ole Missy.

Now, I honestly wonder if our coaches get so fed up with JJ and the power brokers that they don't just say FRICK IT and think to themselves "just give me my buyout."

Here is the deal, if your teams suck then you should be watched more closely and have less power. You have to earn your power just like Saban and all of the great coaches have earned. Gus could have prevented the micromanaging by not sucking - he has only himself to blame. I don't like JJ, but I am ok with JJ's decision to not give as much control to Gus.

I agree. And the power brokers aren't where they are at by making bad decisions and being dumb asses. It almost looks like they are quick to jump in after the first few mistakes a coach makes, making our coaches quite frustrated and everyone on the team can pick up on the body language.

"It's complicated"

Is our new Prez going to stand up to the good ole boy network? Once we know this, we will know our future.

If a program in the SEC and any Power 5 conference has power brokers (and 98% of them do... that's science), any coach hired to coach football for that program has gotten in bed with and slept with the power brokers.

For any of these coaches to later complain about being called a metaphorical "slut" is a bit humorous and ironic.
