I wish him the best. Pretty clear AU wasn't the right fit for him

Did he graduate? If he didn't then it's a retard move. Either way dumb move it's his senior year just give it up man stick with the team and help out in any fashion you can. He isn't going to the NFL

Ya he graduated this summer. Will be a graduate transfer. Apparently FAU's leading returning WR is suspended indefinitely and they don't have a ton of experience coming back. He did a really good interview with Marcello (it's VIP unfortunately) basically stating that he knows he only has one more year of football left so he wants to make sure he plays. Says no hard feelings and felt coaching staff tried hard to find him a spot. Just decided this was his best move. Plus he's only 30 minutes away from home and he hints that there's been some family struggles

247 interview with Franklin ($)

He is a track star with pretty good size. JF3 will for sure get camp invites to prove himself. If Ted "Brick Hands" Ginn can get a 10+ yr career JF3 has a shot at making a rRoster

Even if he has no shot, he has never played Consistent meaningful snaps in CFB. he wasn't going to do it at AU . Going back home for a shot to play significant snaps is a great opportunity

I did last year his height, length and speed would make a killer corner if he could develop a defensive mentality.

I think mentality was his issue. I think he was scared to hit and get hit. Durability would also be a question mark. I mean, how do you tell a coach, "no, I don't want to return punts because that's suicidal."

My thoughts exactly. World class speed, but square peg, round hole. By all accounts he was a great teammate so.... fare thee well young Franklin

That's not a real quote or quoted paraphrase, is it?

Paraphrased.

He supposedly did tell the staff that, though.

That attitude better change before he talks to an NFL team.

Yep. If you are not living on the edge then you are taking up too much room. Good luck to the young man.

NFL teams won't even give him five minutes. His football career will be over by the end of the season.

His speed would be interesting on the small fields of arena leagues

Neiko Thorpe is still on an active NFL roster. All things are possible

Neiko Thorpe also has every physical tool that the NFL wants at his position. His issues at Auburn came from his head IMO he lost his confidence early on.

Franklin doesn't have the arm, size, or attitude/ mental aspects to play QB at the FBS level, let alone in the pros.

At WR all he has is the speed and height (too skinny to just say size).
He has shite hands, can't run routes, doesn't have the moves in the open field, doesn't posses the physicality or attitude to either block or fight for yards.

Like many others have said, he's a track athlete trying to play football.

He's a good athlete, just doesn't have all the tools.
Maybe in a different world where he started early enough in his career and learned not to be afraid of a hit he could have played CB

I wish the kid every success in life. He got his degree at Auburn, so he's an Auburn man for life now. Go finish his football, join tRant and bitch the rest of his life away just like us.

Good luck to him...had to be tough to lose the QB job at EMCC and Auburn to inferior athletes. Hopefully, it was a life lesson about talent maximization. I wish him the best. Thought he handled himself well last year and this off season.

I'd guess he knows that (if so, kudos to him for recognizing it).

At FAU, he'll have a chance to "live the dream" for one more season and maybe run track in the spring...all for free. Wish I was 22 again and could live that life, even for 3 months.

Always believe in letting the kids follow the path that's best for them. Wish him all the best at FAU and beyond.

After watching Last Chance U it proved to me that Lashlee was a inept QB recruiter.
