I want to give the guy some credit.

JJ had some great moments including the bowl win over Memphis, first half against Arkansas in 2014, finishing the FAU game in 2013, and the West Carolina slaughter in 2013.

Many QBs would transfer or quit rather than support their teammates.

It's a long season. At some point we may need a backup QB to play.

Texas A&M was a pretty big win on the road last year as well. We all know he's not the QB we expected him to be and it sucks.

But nobody can say he didn't give his all to Auburn.

JJ actually is about 7-3 as a starter, but for some reason it just never clicked for him completely.

God bless JJ.

Dude tries his best and is loyal to his coaches, his team, and his university.

All my respect.

I wish he could be apart of a very meaningful play, like Kodi Burns in the 2010 National Championship...

He might not be the best player, but he represents the university well. Jeremy is nice, soft spoken IRL. A "yes ma'am/sir, no ma'am/sir" kind of kid. Respectful. He's hung in there through criticism, a lot by me, and continues to go to work.

I've always liked JJ and I give him a lot of credit, Malzahn needs some credit also because he really tried to stick it out with JJ to almost his own demise.

JJ has caught a ton of shite on this board, but if anyone here can say that they weren't ten times more frustrated because of how much we wanted him to be the guy they're a liar. Dude has paid his dues and done everything (within his ability) that was asked of him.

^^This speaks volumes about the kind of man JJ will be after football. If things do not always go his way, JJ will persevere. A lesser man would quit everytime he's asked to have a lesser role.

Funny thread. Most of this board was jumping up and down happy when they heard the rumor that he had quit the team

Man, I am convinced most of the people here are female

I was thinking the same thing. Although I agree with spirit of the thread it is funny to see the switch

ditto

Nothing against JJ; however perhaps a change of position might be long overdue. Auburn needs more of his caliber of man and player - just not at QB.

Can't run the ball because he runs like he is timid and scared to get hit. Can't be a receiver because he won't go over the middle due to being scared of getting hit.

He is fitting the position he needs to be in. Bench anchor. Good kid. Just doesn't have the meanness and brain to be a good sec player.

Maybe under different coaching he would have done better or his mental game would have been improved. Dunno. Sucks though cause he has all the physical attributes you want in a DT capable QB.

JJ always reminded me of Jason Campbell - both in his physical and mental attributes.

JC's two best seasons were in '02 and '04, when he had competent position coaching. In '01 he was being hyped almost as much as JJ last year, and in '03 we had two idiots running the offense, and he was expected to be more of a leader on the field. And he had the same quiet, "yes sir, no ma'am" attitude that JJ has.

Not every QB can be a Cam, Tebow, or JFF - like JC, JJ seems to be better suited to the "game management" style of QB play. I think JJ's inability to handle pressure may have been due to his personality and our coaches' failure to take that into consideration. JOMHO.

No happiness from me. A little snark, but no happiness.

I think my personal reaction was more disappointment that if it had been true I thought it would have reflected a quitters attitude.

Since it turned out not to be true, I admire his attitude to stick with it.
