He was originally recruited as a qb was he not or was it as an athlete?I know he failed to qualify academically so he had to go juco. Did he come in in the fall or spring?

He came in the spring and moved to WR like the second week of spring practice. He's not really an option at QB.

I don't know why he is not an option hell at this point we might as well run wildcat formation on running downs anyway you get an extra blocker and have to account for qb in run game easier to run against stacked box, which we will see from here on out

He's our best option at putting points on the board

Well that's kinda my point he can obviously throw the ball and run the zone read.

I said this in one of the threads last night, it wouldn't surprise me if Smith bumps past White and runs the zone read trying to rekindle the magic of Marshall.\

The problem is that we don't have the skill players we did in 2013. We had a quarterback that ran the read as well as anyone I have seen, a top 3 to 5 running back in Auburn history, a first round LT and a motor grader full back that was like having a fast tackle in the backfield.

We've got to do something to keep the defense of the field for longer than forty five seconds.

I'm good with trying Jason Smith at QB. We have some young backs that can run. Stack the backfield, put him at Qb and go hard. AU always does best when we are in trouble and go to hardass man football.
Just as a layman - it appears the ball in his hands cant be much worse than the ball in JJ's hands.

I mean sure if he knew the offense he couldn't really be any worse, but he literally practiced as a QB for two weeks and that was 5 or 6 months ago. It's not a feasible option.

That is what off weeks are for...
BTW - if you are at W&L -- good for you. Beautiful place, even if it has been a few years since Ive been there

Smith, White, Tubbs we just need someone to play with passion and show his teammates he will put his body on the line.

Our Oline is competent. They have protected JJ pretty well on passing downs and have opened up holes for our running game. They committed no holding penalties against LSU!

If we could teach Smith the zone read this week and let him practice it until he's sick, maybe we could get close to the type of offense we had in 2013.

This quasi pro-style shite we are trying to run is pathetic.

Well we currently have a guy who has practiced for three years and he isn't feasible either.

I think you see White first. Did not see him last week because of the situation.

Wallace is also an option. Plays hard.

Thanks. It's great up here. I love Auburn, but W&L is the best thing that's happened to me. There's some really good people up here.

"Tucker Tubberville leads Auburn past Mississippi St 54-21 and then to a 14-1 National Championship season. Says this trophy was for you dad!"

Headline writes itself.
