That isn't impressive given he was playing in the Pac12. Especially given that Sonny Dykes had "formidable" offenses well before Spavital came along

He's only done well with QBs that someone else developed. Also, I've never met an A&M fan who had anything good to say about him. They couldn't wait for Sumlin to fire him last year.

I don't have any basis to say he is a bad hire , I'm just confused why anyone would think he was a good hire. He hasn't done anything noteworthy

their offense was better last year and their QB went 1st overall in the draft

we should hire whoever was the OC/QB coach for the 2015 Cal team

I'm tired of this line. Yes SEC defenses are the best but that doesn't mean they suck everywhere else. Oklahoma plays in the Big 12 which probably plays the worse defense in the power 5 and they lit us, a top SEC defense, the frick up. It's time to retire that line of thinking bc it holds no merit anymore.

Then read the next line that points out that Dykes' offense had been successful well before Spavital showed up

Fair enough, overlooked it. What I said to AUCEO5 still holds true though.

Ditto that. Look what Oklahoma did to us with weeks to prepare for them. Clemson has run wild on Bama 2 years in a row.

Spavital has experience learning from good QB coaches and around prolific passing offenses, probably would be a decent hire for what we need.

Would be great to get him in here and be QB coach/pass game coordinator for a year.

Yes, that Jake Spavital.. The one that coached Johnny Manziel at TAMU a

I like how you did this with such confidence for wanting to a sub-par coach. By all accounts Manziel was very poorly coached according to NFl guys. He could not even do oroper film study. But somehow this dude will save our program?

Seeing as how JFF has turned out, I don't see how you could legitimately blame Spavital.

He was a helluva lot more productive with Spavital as his QB coach/OC than he has been with anyone else.

If you want the coach responsible for Manziel, call Kliff Kingsbury.

TAMU's offense looked awful once Spavital took over. They couldn't wait for him to leave.
