or would you still give that title to Bo Jackson? Or someone else, like Charles Barkley, Frank Thomas, etc...? What does the Auburn Sports Board say?
Bo Jackson: Biggest freak of nature the RB position has seen, All-SEC, All-American, Walter Camp award winner, Heisman winner, College Football Hall of Famer, NFL Pro Bowler, MLB All-Star, MLB All-Star Player of the Game, countless commercials and endorsements...
Cam Newton: Biggest freak of nature the QB position has seen, All-SEC, All-American, Davey O'Brien Award winner, Manning Award winner, Heisman winner, Maxwell Award Winner, Walter Camp award winner, AP Player of the Year, SEC Champion, National Champion, #1 Overall Pick, Pro Bowler (3), All-Pro, NFL MVP (potentially), Super Bowl winner (potentially), NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, maximum Jimmie Rustler, __________ (career still live), countless commercials and endorsements...

It's Bo Jackson. It's always Bo Jackson as long as he lives.

Cam has a chance to be the best QB ever in the NFL. So yeah, I would say so.

He has a chance. I don't think he'll be able to play long enough tho

Cam Newton has already played longer than Bo Jackson did in the NFL...
I think the only thing holding Cam Newton back right now, is that he only played at Auburn for 1 season. But even considering that, he accomplishment just as much, if not more, than Bo Jackson in college. If he finishes up with the MVP and Super Bowl ring, he will be my new #1. He's on the cusp right now.
ETA: I see you were talking in regards to Cam Newton being the best all-time quarterback.

Bo is actually helped by his injury. We never saw him decline or look mortal. Our image of him is always at his best.

Bo was an all star in two sports both pro and college and overcame his injury. I'll always think of Bo as the greatest athlete ever to play at Auburn. Cam is right there though. Sort of think of them as 1 and 1A.

Ha yeah, sorry you had to type all of that

Bo for the older generation.
Can for the younger generation.
But in my opinion Cam will surpass Bo for all time.

I think Bo is still more "prominent." Cam could certainly get to Bo's level though.

I saw him playing for the White Sox and he definitely looked mortal.

Have to remember at one point Bo was BY FAR the most talked about and marvelled at athlete in the world. Bo truly reached icon status for a few years when he was being talked about on sportscenter almost year round, was a superhero in cartoons, was being marketed more than any athlete ever at the time, was water cooler talk for everyone, etc. Your average housewife knew who Bo Jackson was at one point in the early 90s. That is how big Bo was for a short period.

Both are first name only guys.
I think Bo may have been bigger especially for the context of the time he was a star.
If internet, you tube, twitter, etc were a 1970's technology- Bo would have broken them all.

It's a generation thing. Depends upon how old you are and the length of Cam's career.
Tell you one thing though, Bo can't touch this.

This x 1000.
Having two of the most memorable athletes in cfb history as Auburn players is awesome.
The fact Cam could be a goat in the NFL is... awesomer.

The dude, in a strange way, is in complete control.

When Cam becomes a cartoon super hero for kids to watch, then we'll talk....but winning a super bowl will go a long way to getting him in the conversation

I was born in '91 and even I know how huge Bo was. He was more than just a sports figure, he was a world famous pop culture icon.
Bo and Frank Thomas both had their own video games. Cam ain't that big yet.
At this point I'd put Cam 3rd behind Bo and Charles Barkley, who is still a big figure. With a Super Bowl win I think Cam will pass Barkley. But for now:
1. Bo
2. Barkley
3. Cam
4. Frank Thomas
