Braden Smith and Daniel Carlson are expected to return for their senior season

Tray Mathews is one to watch. He may declare early

Wesley McGriff turned down multiple offers from Ole Miss before accepting the 1mill / year

One Auburn coach says next years defense will be better than this seasons. People don't know how good Dontavius Russell, Marlon Davidson, and Derrick Brown are. Every other position will be better the coach said.

No word on John Franklin's intentions. It's unclear if he'll stay at qb, transfer, or switch positions.

Kendall Briles rumors are just rumors.

Joe Whitt Jr. is happy in the NFL

Matthews needs another year, he has to improve his coverage skills. He got better coming up in the run game this year. He is a big hitter, but in the NFL at safety he will have to cover better.

Braden returning would be YUUUUUUUUUUGE.

I'll believe no drop off in D-line when I see it. Trying to replace Adams and Lawson is an extremely tall task.

I always thought Matthews would declare this year, even though I agree with you.

I'm excited about the D next year, even with our losses. We finally have quality depth, much of which had meaningful playing time this year and looked good doing it. If Stidham plays to his potential with the talent we have at receiver and in the backfield, and considering our more favorable schedule...folks, we could go all the way.

I think Andrew Williams has big-time upside too. he was balling at the end of the year... And really steady all year

At best, the depth takes a big hit.

I think our D should be about as good, but depth at DL scared the shite out of me

Is Paul James coming back next year? I feel like we have a ton of big body tweener guys who could play DE or DT, but have no pure pass rusher outside of Holland.

Moultry may come in and play a similar hybrid role like Holland did as a freshman

To me, Moultry has the potential to play a similar role that Khalil Mack plays for the Raiders. Can play as an EDGE guy but also a traditional ILB role. Don't think he'll have that kind of impact day 1 or anything, but he certainly seems to have those kinds of traits.
