The defense. They have played top 10 caliber defense this year and with any semblance of an offense we'd be giving up under 13 ppg or so if i had to make a guess. We just keep putting them in bad positions.
I also feel bad for SW. He is quite obviously capable of playing QB in the SEC, however our nimrod play caller refuses to actually do what SW does best and that is throw the ball BEYOND the LOS. Gus is putting everyone on offense in a position of failure because the defenses know what is coming.
That last sentence also makes me feel bad for the OL. It's pretty tough to do your job when the opponent knows exactly what is coming. I think the OL did pretty dang well considering the circumstances this weekend.
Unfortunately for SW, Gus truly has no clue how to win with a passing QB and therefore we have to switch to JF3 now, IMO. The key to JF3s success will be a decent mix of pass and run plays, but I only say that assuming that on a solid chunk of those pass plays JF3 will end up scrambling and get positive yardage on those.

Stop making excuses for his poor play. It isn't all play calling. He is not an SEC caliber QB. You can still be mad at Gus for recruiting him or not developing him, but his play has been average to below average. It isn't all play calling.
FYI, the Oline is also below average and that might be a development issue, but you can't call plays when the Oline is getting "Physically" whipped almost every play.

You're wrong. Period.

our O-Line and D-Line both have looked like small toy soldiers compared to the rest of the sec ever since chizik's arrival all the way back to having yoxall on the staff with rumors of workouts being voluntary

I think SW has the ability, but not the opportunity to reach his potential in this offense this year. Gus will not scheme for him, Herb will not protect him, and the OL is just not there. Sean is not a Heisman winner, but he is more than competent to run a good offense with a little help from the coaches and the OL.
And let's hope the D does not quit carrying the team. Or run out of gas because they cannot get off the field.

Sean White can be a more than serviceable QB in the right offense. A play action downfield passing scheme is not the right offense. This has been plainly obvious since last year
People mistake me saying this as a criticism of Sean White. I hate Sean White in our offense, I don't hate Sean White or his skillsets.

I don't know why you guys give SW a pass. Gus is calling for deeper routes. For whatever reason, SW has issues processing coverages, and getting the ball to the open WR. This is appearent with his 1 career TD vs actual football teams. He missed a wide open guy in the end zone during the Clemson game, and lacks touch. He has played enough for us to gauge his talents.

That is exactly right. I really thought Gus would build around him and we would have 3 years getting better, then Woody takes over and we go Ship again.

Noel. Mazzone.

Mazzone is light years better than the guy we saw 17 years ago... his offenses at NC State, Arizona State, and UCLA have been solid. His scheme is also completely different.
To his credit, he's been able to adapt with the times.

Gus' piss poor handling of the QB position has given SW and JJ both the yips. its obvious by SW's body language and facial expressions. none of our QBs are buying into this shite system. they see if for what it's worth.

487 yards
Almost 200 of these on 3 plays, one of which(Long run) was because the D was absolutely gassed

I'm impressed with our D overall, but if our offense came out & put 35 on the board against Clemson, I suspect they (Clemson) would've found a way to score 36. I think Dabo & Venables saw the Auburn offense tripping over itself, and felt little need to waste any plays of their own, just for the sake of it. Granted, it nearly blew up in their faces at the end, but IMO Clemson was running a Tubbs-esque gameplan on us....

No, they did not. This piss-poor OL is just as bad as 2011. Golson is worse than Leff.

I agree with this. Gus just can't make it work. I'd hoped he could tailor his offense, but I don't think he is actually mentally able to do it.

Along with being on the field for the majority of the game bc of an inept offense.
