Patrick Suddes is heading back to the state where his career started.

Arizona State's director of recruiting has accepted a job as Auburn's director of player personnel, according to multiple reports. Suddes previously served one season at Texas in 2013 as the director of player personnel and was on Nick Saban's Alabama staff for five seasons between 2007 and 2013 as the associate director of football operations.

Suddes replaces Casey Woods, who left to become an on-the-field assistant at UAB in December.

Auburn has not confirmed Suddes' hiring as of this time.

Suddes spent the last two seasons under Todd Graham at Arizona State. Suddes is the second Arizona State staffer to defect for Auburn this week. Kodi Burns left Tempe to become Auburn's receivers coach earlier this week.

"Patrick has solidified himself as a real asset in this business and has worked for some of the most respected coaches and administrators at two of the most notable programs in the country," Graham said in 2014.

He spent a total of eight seasons with Saban, including one year at LSU. He was a defensive assistant in 2005 and an offensive assistant in 2006 under Saban with the Miami Dolphins.

"He has always done an excellent job with every responsibility he's had," Saban said in 2013.

"Patrick is a real star in the recruiting business," former Texas coach Mack Brown said in 2014. "He's unbelievably organized, thorough and tireless. He did a tremendous job at Alabama."
