2006 Arkansas QB Mitch Mustain (FR) 53% 894yds 10TD 9INT

2007 Tulsa QB Paul Smith (SR) 60.1% 5065yds 47TD 19INT; 119 rush yds 13TD
2007 Tulsa RB Tarrion Adams 1225yds 8TD; 30rec 301yds 3TD

2009 Auburn QB Chris Todd (SR) 60.4% 2612yds 22TD 6INT
2009 Auburn RB Ben Tate 1362yds 10TD; 20rec 105yds 0TD

Omitting GOAT Cam and 2011 QB-deficient tardfest

2012 Ark State QB Ryan Aplin (SR) 68% 3342yds 24TD 4INT; 438rush yds 6TD
2012 Ark State RB David Oku 1061yds 16TD; 20rec 159yds 1TD

Why can't we haz? Are our QBs just not that intelligent? Is "easing them in so they aren't scared" on the field a bad idea, i.e. K Frazier, now JJ?

We have the Under Armour MVP, Elite 11 MVP QB on our team. I don't buy he can't throw or can't learn to throw the deep ball or at least the intermediate routes, I just can't. He had his own QB coach teach him the basic mechanics, a QB coach who played in the NFL.

I am assuming we are continuously running the ball because this OL needs to build it's proficiency in that area and obviously our QBs can't throw the basics.

Looking at those above stats, I having trouble understanding why Gus has lost his passing game development abilities and aggressiveness.

ETA: Added 2006 Arkansas, forgot about Mustain

You can't just forget about 2011. The QB tardfest wasn't just Chizik's fault. Also, notice that he didn't develop any of those QBs. Look at what Todd did against good competition in 2009, too.

So are we officially concluding Gus cant scout or develop a QB from scratch? He can only polish a 75% solution? If so we have two options, 1) Only recruit JUCO QBs, 2) Bring in a QB Coach

He did way more than we are doing now. Us fans have to hold our breath on every throw.

And we have zero aggressive decisions.

Trotter should've been the guy in 2011. Wasn't it Chizik who lobbied for Moseley and Frazier?

We had one mediocre and two terrible QBs in 2011. We recruited well so you can't blame that. It all comes back to evaluation IMO. 2009 we signed Tyrik Rollison, 4*, #2 DTQB, #60 overall player. He was a grade risk coming in so there should have been a backup and it shouldn't have been a surprise when he couldn't cut it academically at AU. 2010 we signed 5* JUCO Cam. I don't think anybody saw him having tGOAT season and being one and done. I'm sure the coaches expected to have Cam in 2011 when they signed him, so I won't put that on them. 2011 we signed 5* DTQB Keihl Frazier. He was a 5* so obviously a lot of people were way off on their evaluation of Frazier, but Gus coached HS in Arkansas and probably should have known the level of competition KF faced, so I think signing him was a pride thing for Gus since he built Shiloh Christian.

Gus has done a good job recruiting QBs as HC too and had mixed results. He did a wonderful job with Marshall IMO who threw more INTs than TDs in JUCO. Jeremey Johnson it seems like Gus broke. I think his QB coaching is still up in the air to be honest.

Moseley was the backup plan.
