Seen this on twitter. We're currently sitting at 1-7 in our last 8 SEC games and have a very real possibility of losing our next 5

Tamu
UGA
Bama
Tamu
LSU

1-12 in conference play

Pretty impressive that he won the SEC Championship with only one win against the SEC.

Gus > REC

I had a similar thought when reading the thread title

Gus is 1-7 his past 8 sec games. It isn't rocket science trying to decipher what he is talking about.

We are going to beat A&M if that same D shows up this Saturday as it did last saturday. Murrary will get hit hard and disappear.

Anyone who thinks we're going to be any better next year is delusional. First of all, the schedule is far more difficult. Second, Gus will not tweak his offense and he will certainly not relinquish play calling, which is one of the many problems we've had this season. Our guys are fighting hard this season, but our coaches keep putting them in terrible situations.

The schedule should allow us to build up momentum if we can beat Clemson. Can work in our favor.

Anyone who thinks we'll be better next year is delusional, yet you presume to know what Gus Malzahn will do? Interesting theory.

It is not delusional we will be better next year. Is it 100% gonna happen? No idea. But when you return all of your RBs, your starting QB, all of the interior of your OL along with your #6 guy, your 3-5 WRs, possibly your best pass rusher but at least the majority of your starting DL, your young now experienced secondary & a 2nd season under your DC who will have way more of his own guys then it's absolutely possible we get better. I mean hell we have gotten better each game even though we have dropped some heartbreakers

I get being frustrated with this season but the idea that we are barreling toward oblivion is stupid. We have lost 3 of our 4 games by 8 freaking points. Two of those where we got to the redzone at least 4 times but failed to score a TD for a variety of reasons & the other in a 4 OT game. Let's stop acting like we are light years away from competing for SEC West title because we could just as easily be sitting at 7-1 than 1-7 as many here want to believe

I imagine this is what Gus would do if any coach tried to give him input about his offense.

ETA: I still think we'll be better next year though because we won't be anywhere near the rankings and everyone will have forgotten about us. It's just our way.

You really think Gus is going to allow anyone to give him input on how to run the offense he essentially created? I'm not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic. If Gus hasn't figured out that his play calling sucks and has lost us 4 games already, I'm not sure that there's a lot of hope. I'm sure he's a great guy, but is he the type of coach we need to consistently get us in the SEC or playoff conversation? I'm not so sure. Every coach needs 4 seasons before there is a verdict, but we have underachieved 2 out of the three seasons he's been the coach and we are on a considerable downward spiral. We have 14 rookies in the NFL, most in the league and we still managed an 8-5 season last year and a total collapse late in the season.

I don't see a chance in hell of beating Clemson. They probably will not have much drop off next year.
