A lot of you remember him from his recruitment. He ultimately chose Notre Dame over Auburn, and a couple others, only to transfer later on. He just signed with UAB.

Prayers for the young man.

He was one of my most wanted targets that class. Marcus Davis was his teamate. Davis was QB Bryant Rb. Still one of the most impressive highlight films you'll find.

UAB redshirt junior RB Greg Bryant passed away after being shot on Saturday morning.

Bryant was found shot in his car on Saturday morning. He had been in critical condition throughout the early afternoon. In an understandably emotional statement, HC Bill Clark professed his devastation. "We in the UAB community are all deeply saddened, and we are praying for Greg and his family. He and his family deserved much better than this, and we are heartbroken." Bryant arrived at UAB after academic issues forced him out at Notre Dame, but Clark indicated that he was doing well academically with the Blazers, saying that the 5-foot-11, 197-pounder was "very proud" of his GPA. "He always had a smile on his face," Clark said.

Some are saying he's still alive, but it's weird that Roy Watts and Bill Clark have already issued statements saying he passed... If he's hanging on, I hope he keeps fighting.

Seeing tweets from as soon as 20 minutes ago saying that his family, the hospital, and the lead investigator in the shooting are confirming that he's still in critical condition at the hospital. With how many news outlets are reporting his death and his coach and UAB president already issuing statements it must really not look good.

Praying for a miracle. Wouldn't it be something to wake up in the hospital and read news reports of your death.

ETA:

UAB confirmed that Greg Bryant is still alive.
He may be brain dead though.

If so, what a tragic waste.

Prayers for the family.

Any more news yet?
